It's getting near the end - anyone care to stick their neck out and predict the winner? I'm saying David Cook - although he's not my first choice he's who I think will win. How about you?

Bye bye Brooke - boy did she ever bawl when she got sent home. I would have thought she would be anticipating it every week. I guess it's still really sad to leave though. I agree with Jessica on the mentor thing - why such outdated themes this year? Neil Diamond looked like he was about ready to keel over tonight after he sang!

My personal favorite was Michael Johns and he would be probably the only contestant ever that I would go out and buy his cd. I heard about Brooke a while back before all of the Idol talk from music stuff. The only thing about this season is that they have had boring mentors besides Dolly. I mean, Neil Diamond? They should be looking into songs that are very current to show what these kids are like now performing songs of today.

I have no clue who to root for now.....hmmm...

Spoiler Alert: Jason & David A. move on to next week and are safe.

David Cook and Syesha are my favorites, as they're two of the better talents on the show, imo. (And apologies to the Jason fans, but he just doesn't do it for me, and he's definitely not the brightest bulb in the box either.)

I agree that about the two Davids, I wish David Archeletta would sing something besides "message" songs. I am a huge Jason fan and would buy a CD of his in a heartbeat, such a soothing voice. Yes we heard Paulas comments, I wish she would stop dancing and listen to them sing, she seems to be getting more spacey all the time.

We heard Paula say something about Jason's first song and his second song - right after they all finished their first song. She seemed particularly "spacey" last night I thought.

I was wondering something, did the people out in the western area see what Paula said live about Jason or did they edit it out? It was a confusing show to say the least and I'm not sure it's all her fault. First Ryan said the judges wouldn't say anything until the five finished both songs, then he went to them after the first song for a recap. And I've read that they do a 'dress rehearsal' type thing before the live show.

I'm a Jason fan too! I hope he gets a record deal even if he doesn't win. I definately will buy his CD.

I think it will definitely come down to the two Davids. David Archuleta is the only one with the "wow" factor voice-wise, lordy that little guy can sing. But is his singing style really market-able?
Of the five remaining, if I had to go and buy a CD of any of them right now it would probably be Jason's. There is something about his soothing style that I do like and I think if he were able to pick his own music genre he could really shine.
I think I'd have to agree with you though Sherri, David Cook will win.

He's not my first choice either Sherri (he's my second fav though) but I think you may be right. I got a bit sad when Danny didn't make the final 10, I think he would have gotten better and better. My personal fav is Jason and I wish he would win. He's not the best singer there maybe, but he's refreshingly different. I know I probably called over 100x last night for him, thank goodness for redial.

***Thought I would add... I don't usually call that much, but after what happened last night I thought Jason might need the help. I don't know how well I would have done in those circumstances, he seemed ok though. I still wonder what really went on.
