I knew that the Surry sheriff and Commonwealth's Attorney were covering up the Michael Vick case.

http://www.wvec.com/news/topstories/stories/wvec_top_042908_vick_investigator_speaks.b0aca37d.html

This was on our local channel tonight. The detective who alerted the Feds was fired from his job of 10 years two days after Vick's sentencing.

Excerpt:

quote:
“While I was on site for three days, Mr. Poindexter and the sheriff came on site and saw the physical evidence in place, but yet, during the election process they’re saying they never saw nothing, that they never got nothing. Well, I’m here to say they saw it in place,” said Brinkman. “They saw the blood spatters, the training apparatuses. They saw the areas of the dogs being kept in.”

The sheriff lives on the next road to mine. I had to drive by his house tonight and look at him out there in his yard like always. It's one thing to really, really suspect someone is corrupt and another to have something like this story backing it up.

How many dogs could have been saved if not for these corrupted men? How many dogs would have died if not for this detective who spoke up?

Oops - I keep forgetting that links work differently here than on other sites. Let me fix the link to the story!

Wait - so the poor detective who told the truth got FIRED??????? What's going on with him now? Do you know? Can't he sue to get his job back? I'm sad/angry/indignant for him, now.

Isn't that something....but sadly, not uncommon, especially when "celebrity" is involved. It happens around here all the time with the criminal element that play for the Cincinnati Bengals. As a pit bull adorer, I'm glad that it all comes out in the wash, as my gran would say!
