Posted - Apr 28 2008 : 10:42:37 AM I have taken all the clothes, shoes, and crap outta the closet. LET ME TELL YOU....I have like a garbage bag of clothes just from today then I have about 3 others since I started cleaning out. I am not feeling guilt or sentimentality because the clothes don't make up who I am! It is feeling great and my closet is looking great. I'm thinking about the new clothes I'll buy and the weight or inches I'm trying to lose hehe. Alright I just had to share!!! Yard sale next saturday hopefully I'll get some decent $ and clutter outta here. xoxo

Posted - Apr 28 2008 : 4:31:11 PM was so glad to see this topic pop up......i need inspiration to clean my closet out too! i can barely even walk into it any more. i have this really bad habit of coming home from a store and just kind of tossing the bag with the clothes into the closet.......i don't know what happens to it after that! i bought a pair of flip-flops at j.crew a couple weeks ago, i haven't seen them since. i actually asked my daughter "did i actually buy them, or do i just think i did and maybe the check-out line was too long that day???" she said mom, they have to be in there somewhere! i'd love to put up the topic of how many clothes can you have and still be politically correct?? sometimes i think i should bring my wardrobe down to just a few things......then i think, if i have too few things, i'll be doing the wash all the time, wasting water and electric.??? is there any good answer??? |

Posted - Apr 28 2008 : 1:57:21 PM Bridget, I am so proud of you - I did this last year and I could finally fell like I could breathe... My problem is now I have to go out and purchase some clothes because I lost that baby weight (Youngest is turning 21 year old) finally and now my jeans fall off in the pastures while doing chores. I am one of those weird females who hate to shop for clothes so if I find something I like I buy it in many colors - or as my sons would call it my geranimal collection. Hope you make a good return on your efforts.

Posted - Apr 28 2008 : 1:52:15 PM Good for you, Bridget! Getting rid of clothes has always been a challenge for me. I need to change the way I look at it. What was your secret? Or yours Nancy? Is there a test or criteria for what you decided to keep and what you tossed? |
