I decided to live my dream!!! I want to find some land, grow some organic food and flowers, start a little stand and get people involved in the community (and still make my aprons to sell). I am setting aside some $$ each month until Hubby gets home towards my dream. I even going to buy a fancy piggy bank for it..I already have about $7 in change sitting around here.I like to dream but the idea struck me so fancy, that I am going to give it a whirl!! And away she goes...!!!!

Cheers,
Heather

Thanks everyone!! I took another step towards my dream. I bought some..ahem...dreamy beachy farmgirl fabric today from a local business owner. How fun!! I literally stood there oohing and aawing over the material!! The lady just kept laughing at me!!

Cheers,
Heather

Heather... keep throwing in that spare pocket change. I remember reading somewhere that you can save $500 or more just by throwing in that change. Now if you add a little more each month, by the end of the year you will be that much closer to your dream. Good for you for starting! I always tell my DH you have to work a little each day on what you want to happen, no matter what it is. (In his case, wanting to have his own business.) You will see your dream before you know it... just keep plugging away!

fantastic heather .. for me .. dreaming is the first step .. goal-making is the second .. action the third .. sticking to it the fourth .. with peace and satisfaction always attendant in each step along my 'dream-path'.

(with lots of other stuff in between .. like: educating myself about the things i want to achieve .. being 'content' with each step along the way .. working hard for what i want .. being open to change and opportunity .. oh and so much more.

winning millions of dollars certainly isn't going to happen for most of us on this earth .. i find that if what we want does indeed cost money ... dreaming about it can put us in the 'prioritizing' mode.

i discovered for myself .. that if i wanted to experience some of these 'dreams' on that list (that cost money) .. that i had to pick and choose the more realistic and achieveable ones .. THIS made me 'prioritize' my money dream-list .. put it in order of preferences .. and of course, i mus' admit .. it took lotsa' years to do so .. that IF i wanted a comfy retirement .. if i wanted to be able to travel and see the world during these 'freedom years' .. if i wanted to be able to do some little extra things for my daughters and grandchildren at this time in my life .. if i wanted to 'give back to the world and help the needy' and causes that i believe in ..(these are at the top of my personal 'money-dreams' list) .. i had to SAVE some of that hard-earned money and invest it wisely .. it took years of my life for hank to open my eyes about that one! he showed me that having my dream and being realistic about it took wisdom.

Sometimes (and USUALLY) when we are most frightful about not having 'enuff' money for our lives .. be it for food or frivolity .. making a BIG list and then deleting the 'silly' things off of it .. coming down to the 'meat and potatoes' of what we REALLY want is a good exercise. (Can't take credit for that 'dreaming of big money' idea .. i've read it in lotsa' books along the way.) This is one of the ways that i, personally, learned to PRIORITIZE the truly important things in life that i wanted to achieve.

and i agree with grace .. it is usually not the DESTINATION .. but the JOURNEY. for me .. the destination is the 'icing on the cake'.

Now there's a little lesson i thought that i had 'kinda' taught honey hunk. I remember when we first met .. we headed 3 hours to a national forest we wanted to camp in ... (after work on a friday). We passed an antiques shoppe that was open late .. i wanted to stop for a few minutes .. we passed a lovely stream that i wanted to stop and dip my feet into .. we passed an interesting looking restaurant that i wanted to eat at. I could tell he was getting 'ancie' to get and STAY on the road towards the 'destination'. Before we got there .. "ICE" was in the air! We talked about our feelings .. i asked him HOW can we enjoy the DESTINATION if we don't enjoy the JOURNEY!

HA! he simply looked at me and said .. "let's see how much you enjoyed the destination on this particular trip when we are setting up a tent deep in the dark woods at midnight!" (oh crappo .. i guess he was the one again teaching me a little thing or two about ... "sometimes .. we have to rush through a small journey to have a pleasant arrival at our destination." I SWEAR i heard bears rustling in the woods as we fought with that TENT that night!

Heather, it is wonderful that you are taking these steps to realize your dreams. You have found a wonderful forum for encouragement all along your journey. xo
