Love the rolling pin! And the quilt! You are making your thrift store famous - it will be soon on the shopping trails of many! AMVETS - sounds like a good cause too.

The thrift store I go to is an "AMVETS THRIFT". There is a good will one not far from here but I haven't been there in a long time because this one is so close. I do think that they are higher priced then the Amvets.

With some of the Goodwill's putting stuff up for auction on their website, they tend to think everyday goods are worth big bucks. So far, the stores in the Reno area are still pretty good about pricing. Wonderful finds and bargains are still found, though not always as plentiful as in past years. I see the antique mall vendors prowling the aisles looking for the good stuff too. The days of designer clothing for a buck are few and far between anymore! I used to frequent several good thrift shops when I lived in SoCal and lots of high end stuff. Takes more time and dedication now, but I still do okay. I don't drink, smoke, do drugs or gamble, so my addiction of choice is thrift shopping.

Nice finds, Nancy!!! That rolling pin is extra wonderful!

Nancy, Janice and I talked about your thrifting while we were walking around Burlington on Sunday--that our thrift stores don't really have old things, and if they DO, then they mark em sky high, valuable or not. The manager at the Goodwill a few weeks back saw a jacket that I had in my hand, made in Ireland, and told me he'd "looked up the brand name and it was a high quality piece, so I was getting a deal!"

You did have a pretty good day, Nancy Jo. And a three dollar coupon! :D It's probaly illegal to NOT go to a thrift store and let a $3.00 coupon expire. :D
