I am mama to Bella who is four and a half and to Jackson who is 18 months. These days we are out gardening in our yard or walking and biking around town now that the snow is gone. Being a mama to me is certainly about keeping everyone healthy with fresh home cooked food and happy but my daily challenge right now is to find time to ENJOY their little antics more. With two I
get so busy sometimes trying to keep everyone clothed and fed that I am less than amused at some very funny things because they hinder my plans....plans that are not at all important in the grand scheme of things. So now I tidy at night, play most of the day and do my dishes as I cook so I don't have too many piles around to distract me. The kids are my little helpers and they love to have days with Daddy when he is home- I go off to yoga or the library and Erik and Bella cook together and play with Jack. This is a hard time for me as a parent, being mama to just Bella was so natural for me and balancing two little people with their own plans and needs and conflicting wants is tough business but Jack is getting older and they can play together more.

Bella is a sweet girl with a flair for the dramatic, she is smart as a whip, with a strong will and she is a very hard worker- I love it!

Jack is such a content little fellow, always dancing- his whole face lights up when you smile at him and he loves to be right next to mama;)

My favorite mama thought lately is from a Sweet Honey in the Rock called 'On Children', you can hear it through this link...

Betty Jo-
How fun;) I was just looking at the pics you posted of your house, what a special place! I know just what I am going to start with for you mama...but do give me some more ideas. Who are you mama too, what are they (or is she or he)like?

decided i'd jus' pair you up as you sign up (here)

Betty Jo & Rebekka Mae

Heather & Patricia

(you can keep signing up ... and i'll find a partner for you).

contact each other (through the forum) and trade addys .. and give each other what 'style' you like (prissy or primitive .. modern or funky, etc. etc.) try to keep your little momma's day treasure at about $5. to $10. Each partner group can decide between them the approximate 'value'.

Jus' let it be something that says MOTHER or is very 'mother day-ish'.

and let us see pictures of your swaps too!

mos' important part of a swap, i think, is contacting each other and getting to know each other better. xo

Frannie- I emailed you, this will be a nice treat since my hubby always works on Mother's Day. I guess I do spend it with the kids but they are so little that they don't 'DO' anything for me...I usually plan something really nice to do outside (a picnic, gardening or a visit to my mama's in Spokane).

Betty Jo- You should be getting your sling any day now;)
