Posted - Apr 20 2008 : 11:22:39 AM All this talk of what we dream of doing and what we would like to do if...(insert all the reasons we hold back....)Well, I decided Friday that we are really going to take the leap and move to the beach when hubby gets out. We are only young once and if we hate it or can't make it, then so be it. As you all know, this has been a dream of mine since I was a kid and hubby is a beach lover as well, so what not!! WHY NOT!!! I'd rather live in a tent, eating off a gas portable stove and wearing a bikini all day then to sit with my regret at the end of my life. I think it is all this Texas sun making me feel so good.....
I can feel the sand between my toes and the sun baking my skin right now....mmmmmm....
Cheers, Heather

My hubby and I wanted to live near the beach ( this was about 15 or 20 years ago) SOOOOOO after a few too many margaritas and Jimmy Buffet music we ended up in FL for a little over a year and LOVED IT!!! We still laugh about the "lost year" GO FOR IT because in the end you can say at least you did it!!!!

Posted - Apr 21 2008 : 08:57:52 AM Linda- we are staying in Texas and going down to the gulf coast. We love it down there and we looked at little houses a few years ago. We want something really simple, with a little yard/land for flowers and vegetables. I would also like to have something with a little porch and room for a hammock.
Cheers, Heather

Posted - Apr 21 2008 : 07:04:41 AM Heather, do you have ideas of where you want to live, what state I mean? I live 6 blocks from the beach and I take a walk every morning. You can smell the ocean and hear the waves. It's awesome! Can hardly wait to hear how you're paving the way for yourself!

Posted - Apr 21 2008 : 06:08:29 AM That should be plenty of time to line something up. And what better homecoming for your hubby than to have his (and yours) dream all ready to go? Scheme away!

Posted - Apr 21 2008 : 04:58:00 AM Hubby gets out next February, so I have some time to scheme and plan...heheheheheh...but he is onboard with everything. He just wants to be able to actually have a life without time constraints or constantly having to worry about deploying (he wasn't supposed to go before he got out, but life had other plans...). We have both dreamed since we were kids of living on the beach. Even if we only do it for a year or 3 months or whatever, we can say we tried.
Cheers, Heather
