mostly pansies and marigolds .. but i jus' HAD to have some 'color' this early springtime
herbs and one pretty purple plant. got some 'perennials' and put them in buckets .. but will put them in the 'earth' when i'm pretty sure we won't be having any more freezes. about mid-may i'm told is safe.
gotta' lotta' vounteer MINT this year .. i might jus' put the thyme and rosemary elsewhere and let the mint run rampant! i do use it a LOT for tea in the summertime.
that faded black porch and unpainted strips on the barn are driving me NUTZ! we're gonna' have a 'tin roof' put on this porch (are you listenin' miz sugarbucket??) and repaint the porch black. i'm even thinking of maybe making it a little bigger.
those strips are being painted SOON .. i jus' hafta' go get some BARN RED!!!
these are some of the aluminum and metal pots, pans, buckets that i buy cheaply and then paint. bank drainage holes in the bottom .. then fill 'em with plants!
funny how i don't like peely paint on 'new wood' .. but LOVE olde paint on olde wood! close up of some lovelies .. i got most of my plants from Cathy Cobblestone .. and will be buying lots more for her .. AND .. i want to do a summer garden for daughter Wednesday up in Ohio .. but have to wait for that 'nawthern' weather to get warmer .. then .. i'll be stopping by cathy's AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN! She has incredibly healthy plants!
red geraniums in a bucket on cathy's dad's stand .. OH .. i ran into a BABY SNAKE here .. oh lordy! i yelled for Hank to come see that JAKE and JACKIE had created this spring .. PHEW .. to discover .. the little 'snake' had teensy LEGS! i much prefer salamander's close to the house than snakes!
heading for town to meet up with the gurlfrenz for that wonderful SEVEN SIGNS film at our olde train depot. anyone within drivin' distance .. be there at 3 p.m.! xo
