Posted - Apr 19 2008 : 1:56:55 PM My favorite vacation was when we went to Mass. and stayed on the ocean. We went over to the Cape and ferried over to Nantucket. It was so much fun. There were so many things to see and do. We stayed in Plymouth and walked all over the town. The boardwalk ws so fantastic. Tom and I loved going walking and watching the fishermen unload all the fresh fish. Had some good conversations with them.Of course the exact copy of the Mayflower was there and we saw my ancestors name, Frances Eaton there. That was something. We had stopped on the way to Plymouth in Sturbridge. Of course we went to Sturbridge Village that was so much fun. Then in Plymouth we went to a village that had everything set up like the earliest of pilgrims lived and the Indian villages to.That was great. We have had many wonderful vacations, but, that was one of my favorites. I for sure want to go back again.

Posted - Apr 19 2008 : 12:43:39 PM I think it was the first time we took our kids to Prince Edward Island. Martin was three and Susannah was seven. Ten feet out of the driveway Martin asked "Are we there yet? Can I meet the prince?" We had rented a cottage for the week from a friend, it was near the beach on the north end of the island. The sea water there is surprisingly warm because of something I can't remember the name of, but all we had to do was go to the beach. We swam and played in the sand. Every public beach in Canada has bathrooms, hot showers, a little playground with swings, and places to cook your dinner if you are so inclined. it's so different than the beaches in Maine and all the people are so friendly. When we would go to a restaurant and martin would start climbing on his chair and disappear under the table, no one minded. He's fine, don't worry about it. they would say. it is so beautiful on Prince Edward island, we went back five summers in a row....2 kids & many beaches=a perfect vacation. Karin
