OH YEAH! Our GREEN County is gearing up for this wonderful project. Some of the ladies who actually PAINT these 'quilt boards' visited when MaryJane came to Kentucky last year. I've been excitedly awaiting news of our first meeting to get this program in gear. I know mos' of you gurlz are from "OFF" (t'other states!) .. but thought i'd share some info with you .. in case you might want to start such a project in your own County.

I can get more info to you if you need it.

Gurlz .. we are going to get our QUILTS on BARNS project started here in Green County. This is such a fantastic program! If you can attend .. i sure hope you will .. We will be meeting on Thursday, May 8 from 5:00-6:30 CST at the Green County Extension Office in downtown Greensburg (right behind our historic Olde Courthouse.

We will be discussing what the project is, how to get started and what we can do in Green County. Amy Potts from the Rural Heritage Development Initiative will be joining us. (Amy is the sweet lady that spearheaded our fun FARMS and BARNS tour last weekend!!!

Any questions please contact our cutie-patootie Extentions Service Agent .. Audrey Myers at 932-5311.

Let me know, too, if you will be able to attend. I'll meet you there .. and we can go to DQ for ice cream afterwards!!!

Jessica I just emailed you! Thanks a bunch! My mom had never heard of it and I was trying to explain it. I think it would be so cool to get this project started in her area. She is right along the blueridge highway and gets a lot of tourist in the area. I think it would be another way to attract people to the area.

Julie,
I have all of the guidelines and tips/tricks on painting the quilt square that I can email you. I've helped out with this project with several counties up here and we are getting ready to start it here in my home county as well. Send me an email and I'll send you the info. :)

Frannie - If you get any info you can pass along I would appreciate it. My mom and dad live in Virginia and own a Bed and Breakfast. My dad just built a beautiful barn near the entrance of their property. I would love to paint them a quilt square. I have looked on the internet but wasn't really able to come up with a lot of info.

Man DQ sounds soooo good! I love to get a Blizzard with oreos and mint but our DQ closed this winter! BUMMER! We don't have ANY icecream places around here!
