Posted - Apr 15 2008 : 2:19:28 PM Hi everybody, I just wanted to show you the water wheel is finally at the creek. Standing in the same spot the original wheel stood over 100 years ago. We still have a lot to do to get it running but we hope to have it going by summer time. Here is the wheel on the way to the creek.

Posted - Apr 16 2008 : 07:29:46 AM I agree with Janice...I think you can brag till the cows come home! Amazing, all of it...the wheel, the land, the ideas to bring the old mill pond back. I am proud that you want to continue the history in your land.

Posted - Apr 16 2008 : 05:58:48 AM Thank you Lisa, Janice, and Elizabeth Ann. You just don't know. I was feeling I was sticking my head up too high. And there are a few fish in the pond that came through the creek from the other pond. We are still working on the old mill pond. There hadn't been a pond back in that spot for probably 100 years either. But you could see where the old earthen dam was and the outline of the old mill holding pond. When we bought the property we didn't even know anything about there being a water wheel or pond there. It was so exciting to us to try and put it all back. Even if it has taken us quite a few years to get around to it.

Posted - Apr 16 2008 : 05:37:11 AM You've accomplished something spectacular and we're all happy to see it. Don't feel like you're bragging, though you should be! That water wheel is soooo cool. I love it. Nice big pond you've got, too. Are there any fish in it?

Posted - Apr 15 2008 : 3:39:16 PM Thanks Mary Jane. I do have one more I'd like to show. It is my favorite. The water wheel crossing the bridge at the original mill pond. We are in the process of putting the old pond back too. I hope you all don't think I am bragging too much. I feel like that is how I am coming across, and I don't mean to. I am just proud of what we are doing on our farm and want to share it with you farmgirls. Anyway here it is.
