the blog a thon lasted from April 2nd to May 7th. So we have wrapped it up for this time around.
I am considering doing this annually as I had a good bit of interest and just received an email of someone wanting to join in..so..I do believe that this will become an annual blogging event/held each year at about this time.

thank you! yes the blog a thon lasted for 6 weeks. we had about 30 gals participating. I do hope that it helped to drive some traffic here to the forums and continues to do so. It was fun to do and I so much wanted a way to try to give back to Mary Jane for all she does for us.

That is SOOO cool Meg! Congrats! And Congrats to Tina for thinking this project up for us!

I know that it is over, but I still want to post the two weeks I missed...It's amazing how your mind just doesn't go to blogging when you have a sick kiddo.

I hope that someday the MaryJanesFarm name will be a household word/concept for all households, or at least a vast majority of them. It's hard for me to put it into words, but being a farmgirl has touched my life in so may amazing and wonderful ways. I really think that as more and more people learn about MaryJane and being a farmgirl (or even a FarmFamily!!) that (I hope!) people will learn to be more content with themselves and all the wonderful things that being a farmgirl means to each and every one of us. So, I guess what I am trying to say is that the blog-a-thon has been amazing and I am so proud to know you all :D

Now who would of guessed that this farm-girl blog-a-thon would continue to spread the MJF goodness even now? =;-)

A site called Budget Casa http://www.thebudgetcasa.com/index.php (is it a farmgirl's?) emailed me about having my "Something Crafty" Blog-a-thon post as part of her featured post today! It was all about aprons, and since my little tutorial was about my clothes peg apron holder, it fit the bill. So, if they follow the link to my blog post, they will read about MaryJanesFarm and get her link too! Cool eh?
Tina, that was such a great idea you had! :)

Cheers

yay! I saw that..but I can't leave a comment unless I'm registered with some other program of some kind(sorry). Anyhow..I liked your post and congrats on the upcoming new kitchen and outdoor deck/kitchen area too.
what fun.
have never eaten duck eggs before.
am looking forward to eggs soon from our hens though(they should start laying next month toward the end of the month..they'll be 6 months then)..and Naomi wants to go tomorrow and pick out two baby silkie bantams from the feed store..so our chicken flock will most likely grow tomorrow from 2 to 4..the limit that we can have on a city lot.

i am having a visit with my sis, before she moves away for a couple of years, so after the visit i will be joining in. it seems a great way to give back to maryjane and have a fun time doing it!
i do have her on my farmfolks-frannie blog, but will add her to my bunnstale if not already there. and then i will check in and participate in the blogathon after our visit.

My Farm Girl Heart:

I was born in the heart of Washington, D.C. with a 'farm girl heart'. Early in life, I lived with my extended family .. which included my mom and dad, older sister, Shasha and younger brother, Bobby. Also "Nannie" our dad's older sister, Aunt Emma, his younger sister, her husband, Carlton, who had just returned from World War II and an array of other family members from time to time joined our household. All this in a small 'row house' just 20 short 'city' blocks from the Nation's Capitol.

My family were brought up on a 'farm' and as young adults, brought to the city their honor of the 'good earth' .. for this is what provided for them most of their own youth. Most of all, i believe their love of family is the 'country tradition' i most learned from them and has been the most important influence on my own life.

Now .. in the 'freedom years' of our lives .. my husband and i found our 'farm' in a hollow among the rolling hills of Kentucky. Our only 'animals' are two loveable Olde English Sheepdogs .. and all the critters of the 2,000 acre forest that surrounds us.

Though it would seem to many that 'farm girl life and love' has only come lately to me .. it has been with me since i drew my first breath on earth.

xo, frannie

Hi gals!
I am so glad that you all are wanting to participate.

Amy: I post the blog roll up under every weeks theme page..yes it is posted twice..I post it again up under each Main theme page for that week.
It was posted up under "Tie One On" And again up under "Farm Girl Heart"
-----------
Jenny: yes, by all means join in!
------------------
Anyone can join in at any time..but in all fairness on the surprise drawing at the end of the blog-a-thon..to qualify for the drawing you have to have posted and participated for 3 weeks. but you can join in at any time..
-------------
The main goal behind this was to share and connect with our fellow farm girl friends,to learn more about each other,to promote the farm girl life style/ideas a bit more....and to generate traffic and membership back here to the farm so that others can come to learn about this terrific forum... and what MaryJane stands for... and the wonderful products and information offered here.
It is my way of saying "Thank you!" to MaryJane for all she does for us.. by helping to generate traffic to her website.
----------------------
Nancy Jo:
and anyone having problems posting a link on your blog that is clickable and jumps directly back here to the farm..here are the directions for doing that.
When you are creating a post on your blog and are up under the writing page where you type your text..you will see a few tool icons across the top of the writing box..you'll see a b for bold text, then an i for itallics, then a T with a color box for changing text color, then right next to the T you'll see a funny little shape with most of the time a green color under it..you'll want to click on that and then insert the http:// address which would be http://maryjanesfarm.org
then it highlights it into your text and makes it to where it will automatically link back to this website when someone clicks on it.
----- hope I explained it easily enough.
-----------------
Thanks to all of you that are participating!
hugs,Tina
