OH GURLFRENZ .. i don't often 'not' share my shoppin' spots .. but today .. i found the most delicious place with many, many KENTUCKY and Abraham Lincoln books .. i am an avid collector of BOTH .. i got about a hundred dollars worth .. and that was with a 60% SALE going on! I only had about a half hour to shoppe before the store closed .. and i barely even saw all the Kentucky books (most are older/antique .. some are 'newer'). i wanted just about every Lincoln book i saw .. most i had never seen before! i must have about 50 of them now! (gonna' hit the bed soon and look at them) .. only had time to grab a couple of the KENTUCKY books .. but i WILL be going back in a day or two for more!

THEN .. (oh selfish little me) .. i'll tell all my Kentucky Friends where i found them!

This being the 200th anniversary of Lincoln's birth .. the Lincoln books are quite popular i was told .. yet .. there were still plenty for me! I mostly buy the antique ones though.

I'll take some photos tomorrow. Do you kids collect books about your own home state?

Thanks Frannie....I'll keep an eye out for it now that I have the name. I wrote myself a little digital sticky note on my desk top. I might try to get it on line.

Great idea Frannie, I've been wanting to find the good junking spots in Kentucky and surrounding states. I'll be back from NJ (UGH!)(Sorry NJers, I mean what I have to do there not the actual state which is quite beautiful)on Sunday, 4/13 (am leaving today, if I can ever get outta here). The beauty of my life right now is that I am totally flexible. So what day of the week is best shopping is the next question. Weekend or week day, early in the week or later. It's all doable for me.

oh yesssss .. miz nancy jo .. it is indeed JANICE HOLT GILES. (IN MY QUICK LOOKING .. I ONLY SAW ONE OF HER BOOKS AT THIS SHOPPE WHICH SURPRIZED ME! DIDN'T LOOK AT THE PRICE .. cuz i already have it. you can sometimes find them (usually in paperback) at Peddlar Malls .. if you haven't been there .. let me know .. and i'll take you! i like the one in campbellsville better than the e-town one .. BUT .. my FAV 'junkin' shoppe is TRADER BAKERS in LaGRANGE.

oh .. let's make a day-trip to lagrange (it's about 20 miles (north-west) of louisville. AND .. it is a very dear little town (jus' a couple blocks .. but very historic looking) to shoppe in and have lunch. some YUMMY restaurants there.

when you wanna' make a 'day-trip' .. jus' let me know .. AND .. we can wander a little further north and visit TWIGS at her shoppe!

anyone else that wants to go along is sure welcome too! a fun DAY TRIP!

luna .. YOU pick the date .. and i'll see if i'm clear for that day! ohhh .. i'll start another thread to make sure all the other girls that might travel this-a-way who want to join us can come along!

xo

Frannie

I have been trying since the gathering to remember the name of the Kentucky woman author that we talked about. Do you remember the conversation. I do love novels about Kentucky that tell of the character of the people who are unique to this area.

Thanks,
