Good Morning Farm Girls!

I bet you can guess what I am, huh?

I love the mornings. It's my quiet time to putter around the house, cook, clean and get things done before the day gets going.

I was curious to find out who's up with the birds and who's a night owl and what do you do in those quiet hours that are your own?

I'm excited to hear your answers!

Exactly, Kelly--it makes the weekend go by twice as fast when I don't get myself out of bed until the morning has already come and gone. I'm usually "blah" the rest of the day, lol. But the following day I always feel refreshed and cheerful from getting so much sleep.

I'm both...if I'm up early chances are I'm not a nightowl. But if I'm up late I'm not a morning bird. I love both for different reasons :)

LOL! Debi that's just what I'm doing!
I'm sitting here in my messy office in front of my computer with a cup of Joe and a bowl of my homemade granola.
What a great way to start the day, hmmm?

True farmgirls here! Normally when I talk about the limited hours of sleep I get, people respond in shock. Here, it is totally normal! We are a strong line of women aren't we!

I'm with you Jodi... night owl. During the week, try to make myself go to bed before 1130 & have to get up no later than 5. On the weekend, will stay up past one & get up between 1030 & 1130, sometimes later depending on how late I got in bed. Usually if its too late though, I will start to get nauseous. Then I know I am up too late. I love that I can sleep in, but hate it at the same time since I feel most of my day is wasted. makes the weekend go too fast! Sometimes I will be so tired at 930, but then get a second wind. Plus if I go to bed then, I wake up @1230a & then cant fall asleep for awhile.

Total morning person here. I am up at 5, to bed earliest can be 8, depending on what went on in the day.

I am definitely a night owl and yet love nothing better than to be woken up by beautiful sunshine streaming in through bare windows. Now there is joy. And I'm at an age and place where if I want to I can take a little catnap in the afternoon...preferably in a hammock with a breeze. Now that's a good thing about being older.

Danny kids me a lot because when I'm "too pooped to peep" I'll fall asleep anywhere. I have been known on many occasions to be in the middle of a sentence and be asleep before the next word leaves my mouth.
Danny doesn't sleep well so he goes between being in awe of this odd little skill of mine and being complately frustrated with me! LOL!

I am an early bird. I love to get up when everything is still quiet. I do my best work in the mornings. Of course I am up at 4:00 am during the week. So it is night time for me by 9:00 pm

Heck I am just happy to get up every morning!

I am a nightowl..but have to get up at 7am, sometimes 6:30 so I do. I would LOVE to sleep until 8am if I could. I never seem to get to bed before 1am..later many times. If I get 6 hours sleep I feel like that is a good nights sleep for me. Never have slept well. Luckily I am not a person who needs alot of sleep. My husband needs 8 hours minimum.

I am a night owl and a morning person too, the night owl part isn't always my idea of a good time, but I seldom sleep before 2 a.m. and then i wake around six. I guess one's schedule changes the older one gets. I always have a few books by my bed and a bit of hand sewing if I can't get back to sleep....

I relate to all of this! Back in my younger years I worked nights and was a night owl. Now I'm up on the average at 5:15 a.m., out taking a walk at 5:30 a.m. and my day is off and running! My boyfriend Danny is a nightowl though so when I visit him in Chicago I get all thrown off my schedule and it takes about a week to get back into the swing of things again.
You're right Miss WIlma, getting older is sometimes not so much fun!

By nature I'm more of a night owl. When weekends roll around, I usually end up getting to bed between 1 and 3am, and sleeping until past noon. During the work week, though, I'm up at 5:30am and usually don't get to sleep until 10:30. I have to force myself to go to sleep that early since I have to be up again the next morning.

I'm another one of those people you don't talk to until they've had their morning coffee--unless you want to get the evil eye. LOL

I have always been both! But now, as I get older, I am seeing I need more sleep. Used to be 4 hours was plenty for me. But I still only average about 6 and that seems to work okay for me. I have never been one of those structured people that has to have her "8 hours of sleep or I'll die". If someone wants to do something that will keep me up late, no problem, but if I also need to do something early it is no big deal either. Once in a while it "catches me" and I have a lazy day, but not often. I have one friend who simply cannot function unless she has a minimum of 8 hours.

Hugs & blessings,

Brenda

I am a night owl, always have been. I am up until 12:30-1:00 and get up and moving at 6:30.
Sometimes late at night is the only "Me" time I get to myself, so that is another reason I am.

I'm a nightowl...have been since I was a baby. Mom said that when I was 3 or 4, they couldn't PAY me to sleep, so they'd go on to bed and leave me in my room playing or whatever, and eventually, I'd get to bed when I felt like it. My daddy was too, so I come by it naturally.

Ask Justin about me in the morning...he's up with the chickens and I'll stay in bed til the last minute--I also don't speak for the first 45 minutes I'm up. After a shower I'm usually alright, and that's when he'll say, "Good morning, honey"...

I do well up until about 3 p.m. and then I start slacking. I am usually in bed by 9:30.

Linda, I'm starting to think I'm a bit of both. I'm usually up by around 4:00 am or so, even on weekends. But lately I've been going to bed later and later. I've not been sleeping a whole lot lately. Those hours in the morning before I start my routine and at night before bed I consider my 'me' time. I'll either read, surf on the computer, or watch something on tv.
