Posted - Apr 06 2008 : 3:30:52 PM oh gurlfrenz .. i have such a grande idea!
let's have a 'monthly Farmgirl CARE package .. where we do that 'random act of kindness' thingie .. and send a little sumpthin' to one of our farmgirl friends. this won't be toooooo 'spensive .. cuz' we only do it once a month and only for ONE farmgirl (of course, this does not get in the way of other acts of kindness for our farmgirls though!)
we can choose a farmgirl .. (ummmmmmm .. i'll start by choosing our Farmgirl for April .. see below). if we listen carefully to what our friends say .. we'll have a pretty good idea of the 'things they love' .. and if we happen to have a little sumpthin' like that jus' hangin' around our homes .. we can wrap it up and send it on it's way.
the April Farmgirl chooses someone for May .. the May farmgirl chooses someone for June .. etc. etc. it would be such fun to see if we can keep this sweet surprize going all year!
o.k. .. i'm gonna' nominate a farmgirl for APRIL .. a sweet friend of ours who has brought lots of joy into our lives .. and as a special 'thank you' for her lovely magazine that she and her honey provide to us .. well .. have you guessed yet??? i nominate:
miz Tina Wilson!!!
a little birdie told me that Tina is interested in doing 'altered art' creations ..using vintage reproductions of little kids photos, reproductions of things like mercantile labels and bits of old lace and doilies.
I've conjured up a little pile of goodies for April's Farmgirl CARE package for miz tina .. AND i also included a couple pairs of WOODEN dutch shoes that i know she collects.

i thought this sweeet little miniature crochet heart pillow would be dear in one of tina's creations!
wooden shoes for momma and dolly!
i hope lots of us will get into the spirit of giving each month .. it doesn't have to be anything 'huge' .. just a love/thought .. we CARE for YOU gift.

Posted - Apr 07 2008 : 10:41:10 AM thank you Miz Frannie..I will definitely post images here. gosh..I still am overwhelmed that you gals chose me. I emailed you Frannie. I like anything in a bright red, bright yellow, or white..think like tiny plates, cups, pictures of daisies, I love combining these 3 colors so anything in those colors is right up my alley. I'm trying to redo the main part of my house using those 3 colors. So anything cottagey(is that a word) or shabby chic-ish that has those colors is right up my alley. I sent you a wee list of my likes too. Hugs to all of you gals.

Posted - Apr 07 2008 : 07:32:23 AM miz tina .. give us all a list of things that you love to collect .. or can use .. in case some of the girls don't have 'altered art supplies' .. or snippets of lace or embroidered linens.
we know you have a garden and sell some seeds .. but are there any others in particular you might be looking for?
need or WANT anything fun for your kitchen? do you collect 'aprons'? we just might have those things stuffed in a drawer somewhere that would rather be at YOUR house! xo

Posted - Apr 06 2008 : 9:12:29 PM you gals have seriously reduced me to tears. I was just sitting here gulping and sniffling..and I hear Naomi from the other room asking me if I was o.k...(gosh and I was trying to be quiet too) anyhow..I am honestly truly, truly humbled by all of this. I cannot get over how much love and care, and friendship you all express here to someone you have never even met in person. Of course I know that if we were all to meet that we'd all be the best of friends ..but I'm just awed at the outpourings of kindness and love from everyone here. I am humbled beyond words. Thank you all so very much...from the bottom of my heart. --------------- Nancy -Jo..the image is on a stretched canvas frame. I used papers that were reproduced from vintage wallpaper, a reproduction of a vintage millinery tag, reproductions of vintage postcard florals, and a reproduction of a vintage French girl photo..then I used a real piece of lace that Bonne had given me. and in the girls hair I attached some tiny millinery type flowers. I am almost done with it, but have 2 small things yet to add. --I call the image "Rosalina's Dream"..that's the name that kind of popped in my head while I was creating the image. Probably because I was adding burgundy-ish colored roses to it..and I felt the little girl needed a name" ---------- and thank you Miz Frannie..I'm really trying to "get my feet wet" in doing altered art creations..it is new to me..but I have long admired art works like this...and thought that now it's high time I give it a whirl. I am already working on creation number 2, and have number 3 in mind now too. Lots of ideas in my head..ha. Glad you like little "Rosalina" Again..thank you so much for your sweetness..you little rascal you! you shocked the bakoozles out of me.
