tonight .. while sewin' dollies .. i watched a movie that i hadn't seen in years .. and remember when and why i fell in love with Nicolas Cage ... MOON STRUCK (also with Cher). I just love his movie 'persona' .. although i'm not sure i like his personal life.

I like him in just about everything i've seen him in. i like that he is not a typical 'pretty boy' .. LOVE his voice!

any other Cage-ies out there?

what movie star 'floats your boat'? xo

Frannie, Viggo played Aragon/Strider, I think.

OH, NICKY, NICKY! I kept a scrapbook for years! and I was in Las Vegas when he was filming "Con Air" and they crashed the plane into the casino. Fun! I love him in his tiny t-shirt in that movie but his consumate role was "Leaving Las Vegas". How I suffered with him in that one! But I never could stand to watch it again. I actually drove past his house once although I never would think of stopping. How fannish but a thrill.
When he married Lisa Marie, I knew it wouldn't last because he was really marrying Elvis, who had been his big thrill for many years. He also kept a penthouse on top of the old Electric building, I think, in L.A. I had a friend who lived there and she would see him once in a while. I never did, tho. Fate, I guess, cause not long after I met Stuie and sold my Nic collection on Ebay!!

not the little kid in lord of the rings? i can't remember him .. didn't see Hildago .. i gotta' find him and check him out!

i've never seen nicholas cage in an interview .. but i've heard a few things that make me think he's not as 'pretty' inside as he is out. (well . .he's not really PRETTY .. strange but 'pretty boys' don't float my boat as much as those with a different .. but sexy .. look!

Yes! I really fell for Steve Carrell after watching Dan in Real Life. I also love Vigo, Johnny Depp and Colin Firth (Charles Darcy in the BBC Pride & Prejudice).

.. i think he made my 'least sexy' list in that movie!

Steve's also a very good actor! He said he was channeling Ellen Degeneres in that movie. Whatever - it worked!

Here's an exerpt from Kathleen's comments on Cage:

quote:
Another co-star who left a lot to be desired was Nicolas Cage, who played my boyfriend and husband in Peggy Sue Got Married, about an unhappily married woman who jumps back in time to her high-school days.

Now, Nicolas happens to be the nephew of Francis Ford Coppola, who was directing the film. And my contrary co-star was absolutely determined to prove that he wasn’t there as the result of nepotism.

So, everything Francis wanted him to do, he went against - to show that he wasn’t under his uncle’s wing. Which was ridiculous. Oh, that stupid voice of his and the fake teeth! Honestly, I cringe to think about it.

He caused so many problems. He was arrested twice for drunk-driving and, I think, once for stealing a dog. He’d come across a chihuahua he liked and stuck it in his jacket.

On the last night of filming, he came into my trailer after he’d clearly been drinking heavily. He fell on his knees and asked if I could ever forgive him. I said, “Not right now. I have a scene to shoot. Excuse me,” and just walked out.

Love nick cage and moonstruck! That movie is a very clear picture of my Italian family. My mom can hardly stand to watch it, reminding her so much of Uncle Mario and tootsie-yolanda....

The Office is my only "appointment" tv, but it's very hard to watch without crushing on Steve Carrell. And I'm not supposed to be drooling over Michael Scott, but I can't help it - Carrell is such a cutie!

I've loved him since the Daily Show, Debi. He seems like such a nice, genuine guy. And his wife is funny and super-smart as well.

LOVE Nicolas Cage! It's definitely the voice and the eyes, and just his 'persona', as you said, Frannie!

Glad to see Viggo Mortensen mentioned! Another guy with a lovely voice... *giggles*

I've heard Johnny Depp is super-nice in real-life, but they're all human like, us, as your story proves, Jenny.

I'll bet Nick would rather have Frannie talk about him than have Kathleen Turner talk about him!

I loved him in "It could happen to you".
I used to be a waitress..for many years...and about 20 years ago he came into a restaurant in Calif that I worked in. To tell you the truth he was a real jerk. I wasn't his waitress..but he made her cry...he was just cold and mean. So I try to think he just had a bad day and picture him just like in It could happen to you...a really sweet guy. I hope that is the case!
