We went to see REK last night and had a blast. I love listening to talented singer-songwriters in small venues - beats an arena every time!

I thought about Heather/Catscharm74 when his guitarist sang, "There's Only One S in New Braunfels"!

I think my fav is "The Road Goes on Forever". And he is really good, Theresa. Incredible band.

I live in a part of Virginia where pop country rules and people like REK don't get played on the radio at all. When my husband and I first started dating, we knew we liked each other but we were still in that "new" stage (well, we'd only been dating for about 3 days!). We started talking about music and he said, "I really like this guy named Robert Earl Keen". ::Swoon::

That's all it took. We joke that we got married because of Robert Earl Keen.

He yelled out in the audience..."So who knows where New Braunfels is?"...some hands are raised. Then he yells, "Who can spell it??"... My hand shot up in the air - I can! I can!

My husband looked at me like, you are sooo full of it, so I had to explain how I knew how to spell it!
