Cleaned out all my kitchen cupboards today, and came across my Grandma's ice tea pitcher, I knew I had it, but today decided it should be out where I can see it. It was in our fridge at home year around with ice tea in it.I was brought up by my Grand parents.We always had a house full of people, I can't believe it never got broke.It sure wasn't being handled by gentle English folks for high tea.

mary beth .. fiesta with a wooden handle .. i would definitely say that one is worth a few pennies .. i have a book on olde fiesta around here somewhere .. i'll have to check it.
i have gotten most of my olde pottery pitchers for between $20 and $35. .. mostly at antiques shoppes .. i still see them in that price range. some are hall, some fiesta and some unmarked.
i looked around for my turquoise one .. and don't see it .. it is probably still packed up in that SCHOOLHOUSE!! i had a wonderful rose-colored one that i gifted to my sister a coupla' years ago .. i still have a burgundy one that i like a lot. but i find that i use my 'ironstone off-white' one during the wintertime .. and my 'olive' green and autumn shades the most .. summertime and my sunny yellow ones get most use. also can't find that MUSTARD colored one .. which is my very mos' fav!
i did have lots of them .. but sold most of them before moving to kentucky! ohhhh .. sometimes we wish we'd held onto something! but . .it jus' sends me on another fun treasure hunt to find another one!
will have to watch out for a wooden handled one!

I have never seen one with a wooden handle! That must be a real treasure. Better look into that.

I have a similar one in yellow. It has ridges at the neck but it is Fiesta too. Does yours have a wooden handle? Mine does. I have bowls that match it. I should say had. They were mixing bowls and my mother gave them to me when I got married---I remembered them from when I was little and she got them from her mother. I just have the largest bowl left and it is a green. MB

Nancy I did a little research on your pitcher , I couldnt see all of it so here is three prices 2 pint jug ---80.00 ice pitcher 135---145 teapot with lid 130 -200. That is for the turquoise color, No telling what all you have stored away,Lucky girl

oh nancy jo .. i agree with patricia .. unless your bear is an olde STEIFF .. i think a little snipette on that tag is a good idea. i always cut the 'tags' off most things i buy (unless i believe it will enhance the VALUE of a piece in the future!) this includes .. clothing .. towels, wash cloths, 'new' toys. etc. etc.
and honey-doo .. you' KNOW if and when the time is right to part with some of your treasures .. this came for me .. when i realized i had soooooooooooooooooooo much .. especially after moving to these small cabins. HA! i think 'age' might have a little something to do with it too! xo

Nancy, I agree with Tina. You should have your own Etsy store. I don't know if you could part with anything, though!
I particularly enjoyed the photo of the boys looking out the window. I do so much love to see them. And I think the tag should go. Beautiful Boy is right.

I think I read that Fiesta was made by Homer Laughlin which also made Hall. Sometimes you will see a little HL logo on the bottom, but not always. My father-in-law has a blue Hall he is saving for me. I love old teapots and pitchers. So glad you have your family's! :)

lovely! i have that very one! at one time .. i bought those in every color i could find! great for all seasons of the year! i think i am down to only about 8 or 10 of them now .. (the more earthy shades) .. my fav is PUMPKIN colored. even more special that they were your 'grammie's' .. someday .. my own grandes will have their grammie's pitcher! i find that this particular pottery is pretty hearty! enjoy some tea .. or milk and cookies! xo

p.s. nancy .. i've found all of mine .. some are Hall .. some are Fiesta .. some are unmarked .. and i've never had to pay more than $35. for them .. usually in the $20 to $25. price-range. (that was a coupla' years ago .. haven't bought one recently). xo
