What a great time I had! I got to meet April who is just a sweetie and Sunny who looks just like her name. I got to talk to Carol and MaryJane even though they were EXTREMELY busy finishing up the magazine. Alee came out to the farm. She's so sweet and such a good mommie. We had such a nice visit. Nora is just the cutest little girl and such a happy baby. Alee brought Skydog with her, too. She's such a sweet dog, loves attention and people and has the softest coat. She's a great family dog. And Alee's new car is sooo nice. She's so happy with it.

DD and I stayed in one of the cabins. It was so quiet and peaceful, I feel totally renewed and ready to go back to work, now. There's a sky light in the cabin and on the first night dd and I could see the stars while laying in bed.

Friday was cold and very windy. We went to the University and got all of the registration stuff done and the tour to the building where her major is. It was a long, long day of standing in line on concrete floors. I was so glad to get that done. I really like that school. It's pretty big but, the professors are caring and very willing to help their students like a small college does. They keep their classes small, too. I think dd will do well there.

I walked around the farm and got some pictures of the chickens and some other birds, cute little country signs, the sunrise and rabbits. There are rabbits everywhere! Every time I turned around was another rabbit or bunch of rabbits! MaryJane says they are a serious problem there; they even eat her hoses in the middle of the day!

Friday evening, after we got back to the Farm, we could hear the cows mooing down the road. DD went for a walk. While she was gone, I noticed the cows were quiet. It started snowing really hard and dd came back to the cabin. The cows were mooing again. I commented about how the cows were quiet when she was down there and she said that she was singing to them!

The wind continued all night but we were nice and toasty. The beds were so comfortable and made up so cute and homey. I so enjoyed my stay there away from tv, phones and general life noises. Just the wind and birds....

UPDATE: The pictures are now on my blog.

Lisa, they don't usually behave like that. I was taking pictures of other things and they didn't realize I was going to take a picture of them. If they had, they probably would have run up to me and put their paws all over me. I was just surprised at how much our dogs look alike. I don't know what Annie is, she just appeared one day, but Corky is half Border Collie and half lab, but she mostly looks like a border collie.

I'm glad you all enjoyed the pics. It was really nice to be able to put a face with the names of those I hadn't met yet. Everyone was so nice and made us feel right at home. We were very comfortable staying there.

It was so nice that Alee came out to see me. I've been wanting to hug her and Nora for such a long time. Nora is such a happy little girl. I told Alee that she's going to be a real beauty when she grows up. She has such a great smiley face!

Heather, your babies look so sweet and well behaved to pose for you like that. Aren't dogs great?

Aww! Thanks Frannie! Nora sure makes it easy to be a good mom! Yesterday she konked her head and after crying a little she settled down with a juice cup and as soon as she drank as much juice as she wanted, she took a nice long nap. As soon as she woke up- she was right as rain!

Mima! MaryJane told me you were going to visit her. You're going to have the most wonderful time. Just keep in mind the cow noises!

Patricia, that is soooo funny. I actually thought about the possibility of wolves when I'd make a trip to the outhouse in the middle of the night. I didn't know if any were even around there. But we've had some nasty encounters with them here and so it was on my mind. But no problems. I was actually more worried about stepping on a bunny in the dark and going down on my butt in the snow! There are so many of them there.

It was such a peaceful, rejuvenating kind of experience. I'm looking forward to another trip someday. DD and I had a great time together.

Lisa, I am so glad you had such a nice time. I laughed my head off at the cow story. We have a lot of cows around us and that happened to me , I couldn't imagine what that sound was! Your daughter sounds just delightful. Singing to the cows, I loved it.
How nice you had this time together.

You reminded me of an experience I had while staying at the farm a couple of years ago. Maryjane put me to bed in the Plum Pit and there I slept with no tent or walls or roof except the lace canopy on the bed. It was the most amazing experience to hear the nighttime animal sounds - the little slithering in the grasses, the bird calls, the howling of the coyote in the distance. Seeing the stars in the black sky. Extraordinary.

Until I was awakened abruptly by a horrible gutteral moaning that sounded like it was right next to me. I was terrified. What could it be? some hideous monster hiding under my bed? Was it going to eat me? I just huddled in my bed until it stopped. Finally, sleep. Then it began again, the most wretched, heart-wrending moans I ever heard.

And so it went on and off until morning.

When I found out what it was - the cow in the pasture next to the Plum pit. Who, Maryjane said, was in her monthly heat period. Well, I laughed my head off. ("Ohhh! I need a MAN! Right NOW! OH, woe is me!")

I still chuckle.

Frannie, It was such a great visit. DD will be double majoring in German and education with a minor in psycology. She wants to teach English in Germany for a while and then come back and teach German here. Then go back to school to get a masters in psycology while still teaching with the hope that the school she's working at will pay for the masters.

Alee, you're so sweet! You never know, we might make it over to MT someday and we'll just HAVE to drop in to say hi.

It was so fun meeting you and Felicia, Lisa!

Lisa was so kind! She made Nora and I some _ADORABLE_ aprons made from jeans, cotton material, and lace! If you haven't seen her aprons before, you should! They are so cute! I know I will treasure ours forever! She also gave me a beautiful bag she had made and yummy applebutter. How kind was that?!

I wish our visit could have been longer, but I am sure we will meet again another time!
