Whew Whooooo!

I stopped by to see the old 2nd hand store guy on my way home this afternoon.. & he is GONE!! GONE GONE!! Store closed Gone! I was Mortified Girls! THIS was my 'Quik Fix place! Ya know?
So i walked down a few stores to sulk at the old pottery store..
It is the teeniest little old lady in there... I never really go.. but every once in a while i'll look in her windows.. she's closed more then she's open really..
I think she must have decided she'd try her hand a a few 2nd hand items.. she appears to have drug in a few things from home to leave in her store along side her pottery! afghans, kitchen things.. old jewelry.. odds & ins yu know.. so I scoured over her things while I was whining to her how much I'm going to miss stopping in on chubby old Arthur.. & found a few treasures! i LOVE these old Hot Pads/Doilies,or what ever the heck they are called..(the red ones..)
Also found the one cream colored Doillie..& a hankie that i liked.. & a cute little cookie recipe book.. But the REAL prize had to be this Bag! I think the fabric look like old curtains o something.. all worn.. It'll be great for lugging craft projects around! but LOOK AT THE HANDLES!! Bakelite!?! Maybe?? I paid $3.00 for the bag! actually I paid $11.00 for the whole lot of stuff! & not sure if you can see, But two teeny plastic white doves were down in the bottom of the bag..
Which i thought was a neat thing to get too!

Happy Treasure Hunting!

What do ya think Nancy Jo? Nice Haul huh??

Love the barkcloth bag!!! That was a very popular pattern in the 1950's. Good haul, though I'm sorry your little shop is closed. Bummer.

Kathie,
Well I must say, after the upsetting event of your junk store closing it was a good thing you took that sad walk down the street to find some great things.Who knows what else she will be bringing in so you better keep checking back, because you did find some really cute things. Good for you.
