Hi ladies!
I'm getting hitched in June ('bout time, lol!)And I'm in the process of creating the invitations. We're having a private ceremony, followed the next day by a reception for family and friends. It's super casual, and going to be in our backyard amongst the pear trees.
The theme is vintage country :) The flowers are soft pink peonies, daisies, blue delphiniums, ivy, astillbee - so very soft and pretty. The tables will even be covered in vintage cloths!

So, what do you think of something like this? Am I missing anything, info etc? I think we are going to make a little wedding website, so that address will be on the bottom of the card. I think I'll get it colour copied onto cream cardstock.
Any other vintage country wedding ideas would be great!

I like the look of it, very pretty and fits your theme very well :) The only thin I might change is in the wording...instead of "reception following our marriage" maybe put "reception celebrating our marriage" or "to celebrate our marriage" or "in honor of our marriage". Since the wedding is the day before it may confuse people about when the wedding is...of course, if it's small then odds are everyone will know that you're getting married the day before so that might not be a concern.

Congratulations, Meg. The invite is lovely and the plans sound lovely too. I had a picnic-ky wedding, and it was lots of fun.
I kinda like the first name, last initial format, especially if some people know you by that name (like co-workers or former classmates from a place where there was more than one person with the same first name). I would put periods after the initials, though. |

Looks good to me, Meg! I'm really excited for you--weddings are magical regardless of how much you hate all the stuff. We did too, but I surely loved my wedding day :)

Heehee, no I don't hate you for the English lessons. I know it's not correct, I was just trying to 'old-fashion it up abit' - But if you gals see typos, then so will the guests - I'll fix it.
I think I will work on the wording a bit - I just took it off 'proper' wedding invites you order from someone - and they were far more formal than that! This wedding stuff kinda overwhelms me - and we hate all the fuss, but we know our families want some sort of party to celebrate with us, so we might as well have something that suits us. :)

The invitation is beautiful and I love the vintage garden theme. What about small metal pails and watering cans with flowers and games at each table (homemade checkerboards etc. in your wedding colors). Can you tell I love planning for a wedding. Blessings and best wishes for your future. Sage :)

CONGRATS!!!! It looks good just the advice the others girls give, but I don't like the first name and last initial....just my opinion...I know how invitations are cramped for space. I love the theme and the invite!!!

Congratulations! The invites look beautiful, but I agree with the changes Patricia (English major?) suggested. Also, something you may want to consider is if there is going to be an end-time to the reception? Such as: from one o'clock to three o'clock in the afternoon.... Just in case you need people to move along . Have you looked at Meg's wedding in MJ's Ideabook? I love the flowers in the chicken feeders! Many blesssings and may your special day be even more than you imagine!

Don't hate me, I feel weird even doing this, but it's o', comma after Vinemount and marriage, and I think that you should capitalize Request, Vinemount, Ridge, Road and Ontario. If you are going for casual, no caps, make it all no caps, or it seems like typos.
It is a beautiful invite, I love casual weddings. They seem more real to me.

First of all, Congratulations!!!!! And what a beautiful invite....
I think the only thing I might do is make the wording a little less formal..request vs. invite you to share (in) or attend the celebration of our marriage....you could even find a vintage invite where some of those lovely old words really depict what you're going for!!! It sounds soooo lovely!!!!
