Posted - Mar 14 2008 : 06:25:02 AM We found out yesterday that we're having a girl! She was such a wiggle-worm during the ultrasound and our two daughters (4 and 6) got a really great show!
Some people (mostly older people) were telling us not to find out, but wow - that'd be hard! My doctor's office has two huge flat-screen tv's in the ultrasound room, plus being a true southern gal I'm especially nosy! Also, I feel much more bonded with the baby than I already did, if that's possible.
I get teary eyed just thinking about another precious little girl around the house. I love little girls! My oldest is a real tomboy and my youngest is my girly-girl. I can't wait to see what this one is like!

Posted - Mar 14 2008 : 09:40:08 AM When I was pregnant with my first child at age 34 I didn't have amnio, but when I was pregnant at 39 with my second child I did have the amnio. My husband said he didn't want to know, he said it was like opening presents before Christmas. I told him that was a good idea too. So when the doctor asked me if I wanted to know what sex the baby was I said of course. A boy!, we already had the sweetest little girl, so I went over to where my husband was working and brought him a cigar. He was putting a roof on, so I yelled at him that the baby was fine, no problems. Then he asked me what we were going to get and of course I told him well you don't want to know, I teased him for a few minutes. It was neat to know what we were looking forward to. Congratulations on a girl, what a treat, three little girls should be so much fun. Karin

Posted - Mar 14 2008 : 09:04:34 AM Congrats!! My dd is pregnant with her third boy. I can understand the older people encouraging you to not find out - it seems to us old schoolers that it takes part of the excitement away of the birth, already knowing the baby's sex. But I can also see the advantages of finding out ahead too - naming, bonding, shopping etc. Whatever you do - babies are wonderful!!
