I have a flawless ebay record. I always pay immediately on purchases and ship immediately after receiving payment for things-though I don't sell a lot on ebay. I purchased some stuff from Ireland-some magical working kind of stuff. The person sent everything in 5 different packages and I got ONE of them containing only 5 of 57 items total!! The package came shredded and gaping with holes. If she sent everything else in similar packages that explains the reason I didn't get any of them. I tried to get my money back, reasoned with her that yes, the postal service is not her problem, but that the packaging is. She didn't package things properly to travel across the ocean and so I didn't get the things I paid nearly $100 for. After she has bashed me in emails and refused to give me my money back I opened a claim and left negative feedback and she retaliated leaving feedback that is rude and terrible. I did the reply stuff and follow up stuff but does anyone know how I can report her abuse of feedback? I can't seem to find anything except for mutual withdrawl and I DO NOT feel I should have to revoke my feedback...any ideas?

Tasha, I agree with the others, eventhough you SO got the short end of the stick. I hate to think the world isn't as wonderful as I imagine it sometimes...

The follow up note about the retaliatory feedback is a good idea...doesn't completely solve your problem, but at least gives a heads up to anyone reading your feedback about the situation. Also, if your other feedback is good, people can figure out who's the 'bad guy' in that transaction. I'm just a buyer, never sold on eBay. A couple of years ago, I bought a piece of jadite from a seller that I've dealt with a couple of times before. Never had a problem with anything, until this transaction. She always immediately left me positive f/b before I left her any f/b. Anyway, I didn't recieve this item for a while...I would say about a month, when I emailed her a few times (wasn't abusive, or used any cussin') and finally told her I would report her to eBay. I did go through eBay, filed a complaint, and unfortunately, I didn't get much help from them. I sent her a check...not Paypal. I finally left a negative feedback. She just never responded to my emails, so I figured... bad lesson. Funny thing, after leaving the bad f/b, I got many emails from other buyers telling me about their bad experiences with the seller and asked for advice. Long story short (I know, a little long)...I finally did get that item almost a year later. Good luck!

Tasha, I agree with Jennifer. Leave a follow up note stating that she is being retaliatory. For what it's worth I often read the negative feedback and you can tell when someone dropped the ball and got called on it. It stinks that she can't be responsible but be happy that you handled yourself beautifully and brush her slugs off!

I'm so sorry Tasha.....I hope it works out, not sure how, but I hope you prevail and come out ahead. :( I'm sorry there are liars and mean people out there that don't do the right thing. I'm finding more and more of them unfortunately. GOOD LUCK!

Tasha,
I too sell & buy on ebay, I have been pretty fortunatly thus far. I have a rule, that is, I don't sell or buy(anymore) out of the USA, it just leaves you open to problems, slow shipping being one of them.
I do send a lot of packages to Germany(family) as well as receive them from family in Germany, and the ones I receive have to go through customs and are pretty much battered up by the time they make it to my door step.
We bought some RV mirrors on ebay, they were not acceptable, we (thought) we finally got the seller to take the mirrors back & refund us our money....ebay & paypal were of NO help. Well, we sent the mirrors back & never got our money refunded & then ebay told us we waited to long & would not help us. Turns out the seller is a crook 'cuz we got several emails from other buyers who had been stiffed by this seller & they even got the A.G. to investigate.....it's been over a year & we have not heard a word. So we are out $140 &&&& the creep posted neasty feedback, the only thing we have are his emails(which we saved) that were full of profanity. (But I truly believe you get what you give...) That was a big "ouch" in the pocket book, but all of our other experiences have been good.
Good luck with your "seller" and pretty much, ebay only covers themselves's. Sorry, but most everyone I have talked to have had the same negative experence w/ebay when it comes to bad sellers/feedback.
I wish you the best of luck getting this striaghtened out.

Tasha...this doesn't help, but I thought sellers were now limited to leaving only positive feedback? In the meantime, I think Jennifer's solution is best. If you used Paypal they may refund your money if you file a claim with them.

What happened to you is terrible. Some people have no scruples. Good luck, I hope you can get some resolution.

If she left you negative feedback, you can't change it (without a fight) but you can leave a comment underneath that states, "This is retaliatory feedback" so that when people look at that negative they will know why it was left.

This isn't perfect (it won't change your rating, for instance) but in the meantime, it's better than nothing.

Tasha I have had a similar experience on e-bay and never did find a way to rectify it. Some sellers just aren't going to admit that they failed somehow and can be beyond nasty in their comments. Don't revoke your remarks but spread the word through friends and other forums to stay clear of this seller.

Tasha..that totally stinks! I hope this can get resolved somehow...and that she will realize what she did and not to take it out on you. I don't have much e-bay info...I have not even bought anything in awhile, etc. You would think she would of packaged it properly, esp going "across the pond" (overseas). You would also think she would also try to be "nice" and remedy the situation because you did pay her the good $$$$$ for it....some people tho you just can't put a finger on - Good luck!
