Miss Wilma sent me a little piece of an old quilt so I have been playing with that. I think it will come out cute.
Took a few pictures around the house. Jeannie wanted to know where I hung that little Home Sweet home I got at the thrift the other day.
Just made Richard a nice chicken dinner. Three of the little ones were here most of the day, we took them all to the mall and let them spend our money. Might not get as many groceries this week as I usually do. HA.

I was so happy when she gave her to me.. she acted like it was nothing- she is just a old doll... I was surprised when I found a tag on her for such a high price..
Wonderful on the books. I hope we can find her. Jeff said Friday is good.

Debra,
I have several old doll books also, when we get together next weekend we can look for her in them. How nice of your Aunt to get her for you.

I didn't see any markings on her head. her hands are ceramic also. I am not sure when it was purchased for $169, I got her from my Aunt a year ago. I know she got her at a garage sale. she would never pay that much for a doll. I will take a close up this morning. thanks for the help.

Debra - Are there no markings on 'Millie Mae'? No numbers or anything? It's hard to see her really clearly in the photo, but she sure looks like a very nice old 'character baby'. How long ago was she purchased for 169.00? I don't think she's a Grace Storey Putman 'bye-lo' baby, but she's a very nice doll. If you can get a better close up of her head, I may be able to look her up in a doll book for you. Are her little hand celluloid? She's a beauty!

Nancy Jo, the quilt looks nice. What do you think you will back it with? My mother always backs her quilts with something so different than the front. Sometimes shockingly so---that's my Mother. Everything you do looks so nice. And I have a secret to tell you--quiet now---I broke my vow and went to the thrift store. MB

Again, I am blown away by your talent, Nancy Jo, and all the gifts you receive from so many folks. Your home must be a treasure trove! A real home sweet home, just like your new sign says, which looks great where you hung it!

Glad you had your little ones today!

And my grandma's named was Millie, also!

It all looks great Nancy Jo.. I love the embroidery you did on the cutter quilt..
I have been working on yo-yo's and my daughter found my old dolly.. my aunt gave her to me.. she is dressed in old christening type gown.. she has a ceramic face.. I just love her. I don't know where my aunt found her but I was taking off the dress and found a tag on her for $169!!! I have the dress soaking.. so I wrapped her in a blanket.. everyone was outside in the garage so I crept out there holding her like a real newborn.. the whole family looked at me like I was crazy!! I tell you she sure feels like ar eal baby.. her body is big and heavy.. so when wrapped in a blanket and one of my knitted bonnets on her I felt like I was holding one of my babies.. I guess I am longing for another baby in this house.. mine are growing so fast!! :-)
