Where do you guys get your favorite fabric from? I've decided to work on another quilt during slow times this year as a new years resolution and as a sisterhood badge project. I usually get mine from my grandma or from antiquing. Hard to find anything at Walmart since only a couple of stores carry fabric anymore.
Where are your favorite places or even types of fabric? I love the tiny prints with teeny tiny flowers or the patterns with tiny polka dots.

Here in L.A. there is a Fabric Distric! It is SO fantanstic and streets and streets full of fabric shops. My sister and I went down there on Saturday morning and in one shop I got roughly 20 yards of fabric for $38.00! Woo Hoo! A lot of the places sell fabric for $1.00 a yard. I'm telling you I was in heaven!

Jessica, in April when you come to Burlington, you can stop at Log Cabin Arts, an old log cabin right in the bend before the fairgrounds that devotes itself to quilting...the whole cabin, upstairs and down is chock full.

I wanted to post and thank Miss Karen for some BEAUTIFUL pieces of fabric. There was a box load of some of the prettiest prints I have seen in a long time. They really brightened my day. I will try to get a photo of them tonight and post on my blog. Karen, be looking for a little thank you gift in your mailbox soon. :)

Jessica, I have been quilting all morning with some ticking your Aunt Wilma sent, what a treat. The pictures from your blog are amazing!!! What an eye you have;) Would you make a little 3 by 5 print or card of the horses in the snow? My daughter loves horses and I would love to show her those two beauties, I am happy to send you something for it.

Girls I think I've died and went to quilt heaven. I've been sitting here this afternoon (feels like morning still) looking over these quilt websites. Oodles and Oodles of fabric! My little hamster wheel is turning with ideas and such for a quilt. It's been a few years since I've done one, but growing up, I use to sew all the time.
Wilma, I found Gail's website with her dolls and designs. Beautiful fabric and her dolls are just too precious!
I've bookmarked those websites and gonna buy some fabric. Thanks girls!!

I forgot to say we have a quilt shop and I buy some things from her too.
My deceased Grandmother use to cut up old shirts and cotton dresses
She would fuss all over me if she knew what I pay for some of my fabric.
She has been deceased for quite a no . of years
She taught me the love of sewing and quilting and needlework.and my Mom
Mom saved quite a bit of Gran's house dresses. they are cotton
I am going to make a quilt one day with those
Mom also gave me some of her aprons

We have a joAnn's and sometimes I order some from
www.keepsakesquilting.com they have quite a bit to choose from
they are really quick to mail out the things you order
They have the prettiest fat backs and charms.
Also I like the charms they have pinkroses

Jessica Send me yr snail mail address and I will send you a bunch of little prints, I have way too much fabric, there is a big salvage store chain in Maine that has the most wonderful fabric for unbelievable prices. When they cut you a yard of fabric it is usually about 6 or seven inches more, I think that's because lots of women come from
Canada to buy fabric, and they're used to meters, not yards. I know I have a lot of little prints that I don;t use so much of any more, so I'll start hunting you up a bunch of quilt fever bits. Karin

Jessie I use a lot of Windham fabrics also like a lot of the Old Charleston prints, I have some of the Gail Wilson Little prints left, They arent available any more unless you just find some one that has them , I wish she could have had them made again, but I really got lucky When she told me they wouldnt be available any more I bought all she had. Yeah I am the one that wiped her out on the fabric.AS for the other I have a wonderful source for that and will take you over there.But I probably have anything you would want here. I have a cupboard full and also have lots of bolts, so I think we can fix you right up. Love you little one
