OK gals,
I was outside planting peas...& my pants are scooting down while I'm bending over.

That's it! I need overalls.

So where do you get them. I've only seen them at home depot & not sure they have the right price, plus there's no place to try them on.
How do you convert the guy sizes to ours?

Thanks!!!

Blessings,

I would be lost with out my overalls. I just let the DD's hang loose in a tight spandex t-shirt and they stay inside nice and tight near their friend my waist. I always get my overalls second hand from some place as I like them worn and baggy. I do like them shorter then long and dragging. They are so my best friends next to a good apron with pockets. Enjoy them!!!!

Just one thing about the overalls. Watch those straps when going potty.

We'll I'm going to check out the feed store. After reading responses, I don't want to deal with the double d problem either...so off for the larger men's ones to wear over leggings or thermals in winter.

Your responses are so funny. With all different kinds of underwear showing around the yard, farm & garden it's a wonder that overalls aren't sold everywhere!

I usually get mine from Old Navy, but sometimes they don't have them. I used to get them there because the denim was a bit thinner and softer than others I've worn. I haven't bought some in at least a year, so I don't know if they still have them.

At one point in time, I had over 10 pairs of overalls and they were different sizes, etc. One was even velvet and another corduroy. Yeah wasn't I styling! haha. That's all I wore for a long time back in college. I love overalls, but I haven't worn them in a while. Sometimes you can find them on ebay, Goodwill, or Tractor Supply.

As far as the double D problem..sometimes a wider bib or getting a little taller height where you can adjust the straps can help.

I got the double D problem going too...but if you get them big enough the bib is wider.

I used to wear them before I ever thought of being a farmgirl--I've always loved how comfy they are. It was something about the video from the british band, Dexy's Midnight Runners (C'mon Eileen!)--I always thought they looked really great in the summer rolled up high with a pair of combat boots...well, I was a punk! I also had a pair of green corduroy ones that I wore till there was no more "cord". I'd like to get another pair, but am having trouble finding any with a short enough inseam. Maybe I'll just cut em'.

Oh you must have a pair of overalls, Kristin! You'll never want to wear anything else! I get mine at Goodwill too. But when I do buy them new, Old Navy has a great selection and they're very reasonably priced.

What a great idea, Jenny, to embroider them. I think I'll go get another pair next week just to try that out! Thanks.

I totally couldn't live without overalls...they have been part of my "uniform" for years. Either overalls or an apron..I am never without one or the other at home.
I like my overalls big big big so I just get big ones and if they need to be hemmed I hem them. My favorites are from the feed store (sometimes I find them at thrift stores too and do a little happy dance right there!! ..but I have had just about every brand. Mine arn't the "girl" ones that are more fitted...they are the farmer ones that are baggie and not very flattering. But Mona dosn't mind me in them. I like to embroider things on them too. The ones I wear the most right now say MOM in red on the bib.
Have fun.

Yes you do! I get mine at the Goodwill! I got three pairs there just last week and my girlfriend who was here for a visit got 2 pair. I spent less than $25. with tax for all 3. I don't know about the make of the 2 pairs my girlfriend got, but One pair of mine is made by Ralph Lauren, One pair by calvin Klein and one pair i never heard of maker. All are denim and in never worn condition!
We went to the Salvation Army store first but they did not have any overalls in stock, however in the past, i have gotten very good deals on overalls at the SA as well.
