So, I'm a bit frustrated...we purchased our Christmas Tree two weeks before Christmas, and...even though it was taken out of our account the day we purchased it, apparently the tree farm's credit card machine wasn't working properly, so they just posted the $48.00 to our account today. Now, this is a small nursery that we go to all the time, and we're on the mailing list. I don't dispute that we "owe" for the tree--but it would have been nice if they would have let folks know that this was going to happen...apparently, about 200 people just "paid" for their tree!!!! Grrr! That money was set aside already for other bills.

I've really never had that happen before....and when I called this am to ask her about it, she was kind of...well, not nice. She said I was about the 20th person she'd heard from (which made me think, "I'll bet!")...Yeah, we don't ever have a cushion--especially this year :)

I hate it when that happens. People forget that we don't all have a cushion of spare cash.

Same thing happened where my dh parks at work. He has to pay $10 a day to park in Seattle and they saved them all up and charged us for two weeks at once - $110. DH complained and the guy told him "You should have been subtracting the money daily out of your checking account, and if you had it wouldn't matter when we took it out!" I guess he's right - but I don't know about you, I kind of balance my checkbook with what the online statement says everyday. In the back of my head I knew he was paying for parking everyday, but I never thought of it when I'd check the online statement and he didn't remind me each day "Now $10 should be subtracted today!" Really frustrating isn't it?
