Hey y'all! Me and my 2 boys (2yr & 3yr) are suffering from cabin fever. We've been finger painting, made sock puppets, play dough, macaroni necklaces but I'm out of ideas now. Does anyone have a cute inexpensive craft ideas for little ones??

For quick 'clean' fun...little kids love 'volcano action' from pouring baking soda in the sink drain, then following with vinegar. If they won't squirt each other, let them use droppers of some sort to put vinegar in themselves. Give 'em a couple of scrub brushes, too. ;) |

This is not crafty but I hide things around the house- say five socks (I use old ones and tuck little age appropriate things inside) My son is 2, so I put those little packages of gold fish or a spider ring or a ball, something like that. He searches for them and he is learning to count, so we count them as we find them. It also helps him identify things like say I tell him it is behind the brown chair....etc...
I also give him the feather duster and he is amused for hours!!!

OMG, my older sister and I did that when we were kids! That kept us occupied for AGES!

This is kind of hokey, not really a craft, but my son loves this. He sets up a shop with all the prices, etc., and he sells stuff from around the house, and then I shop from him.

anything to help, christy, as i said earlier, i never had children that close together,and only 1 boy and three girls. my middle daughter has 2 boys like you do and all i can say is......i am not worthy, i am not worth i am not worthy.
although the girls can really get to ya when they are teenagers.?!

I used to do this with my daughter and she loved it. We did easy things like making bread or pizza. She was always really excited to help make the dough and watch it rise etc.
The mess factor is high but the fun factor is higher and at the end of the project is a big accomplishment!

this is the tool i was trying to describe. i find them in the scrapbooking section.
believe it or not, my grandkiddos also like to string large wooden beeds on shoestring and also if you have apaper shredder, when you have all that shredded paper they like to put it in a shoebox and hide little toys in it and look for them by feel, you can snap pics of the object and they can look at a card and try to find it. kinda like a treasure hunt.
if all else fails when pawpaw and i have a weak moment we get a large appliance box and let them build a fort and decorate it with markers or make a television with it.
 that is a kiss from olivia, she loves to send those kisses out.

here's one olivia and deven like.
supplies:
old magazine
paper cut out
old boxes, cigar, gift etc, or even old juice cans (the paper can type)
glue stick
set up all the supplies on table, then let the boys "cut out the shape" with the shape stamper. then glue onto box for a treasure box. also can do without the stamper, but it is easier with the young ones if you dont use the scissors cause they can usually do the stamp cutter thing themselves. or you can precut them .
