Posted - Feb 23 2008 : 10:03:11 PM Girls- I was just telling Miss Wilma about the most lovely thing, so I will share it with you as well...
...I enjoy making a bit of money being crafty and it is so helpful to be surrounded by all these creative farmgirls, not competitive but cooperative! I am part of the Farmgirl Flair etsy team and I was so impressed recently with a discussion between a few members who discovered that they were planning on making the same thing to sell for easter. They made a pact to agree on price so that they could both make the items and not hurt one another's business. Now that is priceless!...
So now I know just who I am dealing with when I make a purchase and I am glad to be supporting women who are not only taking care of their own families but who are looking out for one another and doing the right thing.
Beautiful, Rebekka

Posted - Feb 24 2008 : 2:29:54 PM Patricia- I can't wait to see Melva, regardless of what you ended up making I was so warmed by the discussion about how to make it all work. You are so sweet, and how lovely of Kay to let Melva help with her soapmaking! Rebekka

Posted - Feb 24 2008 : 12:18:22 PM Well, the farmgirl spirit continues but I have to charge more for my bunnies now as I have made them a lot bigger. I couldn't work with the tiny ones. Incidentally, Melva is done. She's a chocolate bunny about 14 inches long and 17 long if you count her ears. Melva is a very sweet child who likes to gather carrots early enough so she can share them with her family. I'll be making the rest of her family, too. Melva has always been a clean child. Her favorite expression is "cleanliness is next to Godliness" and she makes soap by hand. She loves to make soap and I'm going to include a small handmade soap of hers when she gets adopted out. The Kay of the Rustic Cottage, our Farmgirl Flair fearless leader, helps Melva make her soaps. I will post a picture of her soon. My printer died yesterday and Dell is sending me a new one but I won't get it for 3-5 days. Can't wait to show her to you. In the meantime she's hanging laundry. She loves the smell of fresh sun dried laundry.
