wuz' gonna' run to town today .. but made me a promise that i wouldn't set foot outside until my suitcase was packed for our trip .. been wrapping dollies .. doin' a 'tad' of housecleaning (we always like to leave a real clean house to come home to when we travel). running up and down and hittin' the computer now 'n then .. and YES! i've got lotsa' 'choices' layed out on the bed to go through!
don't want to pack too much .. we've done these 'cruises' before and always in the past i have over-packed .. took stuff i never even wore! do ya'll overpack too when you go on vacation? jus' give me some clean skivvies, my toothbrush, some comfy jeans, comfy shoes .. a coupla' evenin' skirts (not so 'dressy' that i can't wear them during the day too!) and as long as i've got some fun, funky accessories .. i'm happy! oh! and SUNTAN LOTION .. i do NOT want to come back with a SUNBURN!
hope to finish before midnight .. cuz' i dooooooo wanna' go give 'my townies' a big hug tomorrow before we leave!

gurlfrenz .. if ya'll ever want to try the little 'run away' adventure .. you can ALWAYS come visit me! i promise you'll go home forgiving and forgetting any silly little "mad". i still do occasional 'run-away' trips .. but don't much get 'mad' anymore .. just discovered that they are really 'good for the soul'.
thanks for the sweet thoughts .. i'm all packed now ... soooo ..i'm headin' for town (i doooooooooo have a dentist appointment this afternoon .. and gonna' definitely hit that postie .. so all ya'll new mommas' .. be lookin' for yore young'uns arriving soon!

Oh Frannie, I used to run away,LOL when the kids or DH would just be to much stress going on. Only Id go to like a safeway parking lot and sit there for an hour or drive around , then didnt have any place else to go so went back home. But I told THEM I wasa LEAVING . ROFL

Frannie you and 'Honey Hunk' Hank go and have yourself a wonderful time.
Gosh, wouldnt a Cruise be a wonderful trip for farmgirls? Shucks, Farmgirls can have a good time no matter what they are doing, as long as they are together. Proof of that happen this past weekend. Thanks so much Frannie for the fun weekend.

Frannie, Your "run aways" sound so amazing. I cant count the number of times over the past 11 years that I've wanted to do that very thing. Only, with that man, I would have had no man to come home to once I had decompressed. Oh, well. Someday I am going to run away and I intend to have a ball when I do.
What we write today slipped into our souls some other day when we were alone and doing nothing.

P.S. sometimes i'd take the girls, (but not usually) ... and sometimes i'd leave them with a trusted friend .. they LOVED this .. cuz' it was like a little 'vacation' for them too!
have any of you gurlz ever done this? TRY IT .. it's very FREE-ING!! xo

oh ha! 'packing my bags' reminded me of some 'fond' memories of when i was young and 'new' in this relationship thingie with the 'men of my life' ... when i'd get a 'mad' on .. i'd do one of two things (HA! and sometimes BOTH!)
i'd get boxes and pack 'the dishes' in them .. (like i was LEAVING!!) that one didn't much work .. cuz' the men in my life .. NEVER EVEN NOTICED!
sooooooo .... PLAN "B"!!!
AND THIS ONE TURNED OUT TO ACTUALLY BE LOTS OF FUN AND A GREAT SOLUTION TO GET OVER MY 'MAD' .. after it was over .. i rarely even remembered what i was "mad" about anyhoo!
I'd 'RUN AWAY'!! (for a few days! I'd pack a suitcase for a night or two stay "somewhere" .. i'd pack up my dollie fixin's .. art supplies .. camera .. and a coupla' good books/magazines i'd been wanting to read but hadn't had the time to! then .. i'd drive to the END OF THE DRIVEWAY .. FLIP A COIN .. and turn either LEFT or RIGHT .. (heads was LEFT .. tails was RIGHT) .. i swannee .. i did that! and i'd head the car in a 'general direction' on the map .. i'd stop when i wanted to (ha! and usually spend lots of 'MAD-money'!!) (i figgered when that VISA or MC bill came in .. that would be 'retribution' enuff for whatever i happened to be 'mad' about at any particular time!) AND .. i'd come home with TREASURES!
i'd try and find a nice B&B (if i wanted to 'socialize') or a nice hotel or motel .. if i preferred to be alone with my dollies, art supplies, books and magazines! i never 'journaled' these trips .. i let SERENDIPITY reign!
i sometimes met neat people .. went to fun events .. and saw places i'd never seen before! i'd treat me to oppulent dinners .. (or pizza in my room!) it all depended on my whim and whimsy for the day.
this was BEFORE 'cell phones' ... oh .. i'd always leave a 'note' letting the particular 'man in my life at the time' know that i needed some 'run-away time .. that i did love him .. and would be back .. but don't know when!'
i always came home happy and to a happy man!
now ..it's never cuz' of 'madness' .. but these little trip-ettes helped me to NEVER be jealous or wanting to deny 'my men' their own adventures too.
ha! funny how that little 'packing my suitcases' story led me down memory lane! xo
