oh ya-ya's .. what fun and friendship we are having! The girls all arrived about 10 'fast time' .. we left at 11 and headed for greensburg. first stop .. glovers' station .. where we all found treasures galore ..

then we were powerful 'hongry' for lunch .. and went to lucy tuckers' for a deeeeeeeelish lunch ... it was so great .. we had the restaurant all to ourselves! .. we played 'the question game' (one of my 'signature get-together activities!) what a great way to get to know one another. gosh, we've shared so many stories of our lives .. it's like we've known each other forever!

then we went next door to plaid peacock for some more shopping! oh gosh .. i got the most adorable little 'lamb' for my newest grand-baby due in June. it has four 'sounds' .. one is a soothing 'heartbeat' (as they hear in the womb) . another is the gentle sounds of water lapping at the shore (Robin asked if that was the mother 'peeing' sound .. which they also hear a LOT while in the womb!) another .. a soft wind blowing .. and i think my favorite is 'whales singing'.

THEN .. down the road to that adorable and precious Cathy Murray's Cobblestone Farm .. for yet MORE treasures. Cathy had made us each a little gift basket miniature rose and yummy muffins! Every time I have stopped by to see her she has generously gifted a little treasure-ette to me! One of the genuinely kindest women i've ever met in kentucky! and her shoppe is adorable!

we stopped in town and i showed the gurlz our magnificent paintings on our water tower and water building .. and our 'circle of friends' garden.

then back up the street .. where i added a few more primitives to the jeremiah abell cabin. and the 'actor' doing the play tonight showed up and asked how to get into the church for his performance tonight.

that sent me on a frenzy finding our town officials to make sure that all ran smoothly and he was able to 'set up' his scene. we all hopped in the car and ran down to city hall .. i went in ... then came out and told them all to come inside .. i had a 'job' for them! we sat around in the mayor's conference room and tied ribbons on the evening's programs. i put 'em to work! we laughed and giggled and finally realized the day had gone so fast that we didn't have time to go back home to change into our 'fancy clothes'. soooo .. we went for a 'soda' and more laughs .. until it was time for the 'tour' of our historic district. our local kids' led the tour .. while i skipped out and ran to the olde courthouse and piled three plates high with food for our actor and crew!

OH MY GOSH!!! our dinner at the olde courthouse was delicious .. and our very talented musician 'warren WOLF' played and sang for us while we ate!

THEN the play! it was fabulous .. although a coupla' the girls (who shall remain nameless!!!!) got into a giggle fit during the performance .. thank goodness i wasn't sitting next to them cuz' i surely would have 'lost it' too!!! oh what fun we're having!!!

after the show .. we came back home .. set up the cots .. then gathered around the kitchen table and swapped stories and adventures some more!

OH MY GOSH! i think the surprize highlight of my day was when the girls presented me with a MOST MAGNIFICENT scarf that they saw me raving about at the Plaid Peacock!!! i will treasure it forever! what sweethearts these friends are!!!

well, i finally tucked them all in just before 2 a.m. .. cuz' we will be up bright and early tomorrow to head for Campbellsville to visit Pamela from Behind Thyme .. and then to Bardstown to Sugarbucket's and other shoppes!

so i think mayhaps i should 'hit the bed' too cuz' the sun will be rising before i know it!

wish you were all here with us! xo, frannie

Ange come over and spent the night with us last night. She enjoyed the farm vist at your place. Glad she could be of some help. She is living her dream and I am thankful that she is getting to do what she loves doing.

And Dr. Ange (Pam's lovely and wonderfully knowledgeable daughter) came out and looked my girls over, checking them all out individually. My Myrtle who miscarriaged seems to be doing fine and she took blood samples to be sure. She pronounced them all healthy looking and will be doing further tests to ensure that they carry normally. What a relief. What a wonderful coincidence of the universe to meet Pam (a lovely lady in her own right) who introduced me to her daughter just EXACTLY when we needed her. Anyone needing a top notch vet near Greensburg will be very pleased with her.

Ok my question, the one I remember, I'm not sure I want to say on line but I'll say that it had to do with age difference in relationships. Does that ring a bell, Frannie? Care packages will be coming full of lovely sheeps wool for you and yarn for Amy. I may not get them out before your trip Frannie but they should be there when you get back. I also got you and Hank Hunny hooked up with an invitation to my Italian cooking neighbors anytime ya want.

I'm looking forward to some time to work on my dolly and will post a picture soons I can.

Miss ya all already,

Was Luna's question about climbing ancient ruins in another country? I can hardly remember cuz we were all laughing so much!
I thought the tour, play and reception were quite nice. It almost felt like we were back in that era and it was "our" town, almost like Christmas time. All the locals were so friendly and greeted us from "off" so kind! I also absolutely love the late nite giggles and heart to heart talks. My lil antique ceiling light looks so elegant and I am already makin plans for my fat quarters. Bottomline...I liked the whole shootin match.....just that plain and simple!

Life is short.....eat cookiedough!

luna .. how's your sweet little lambie-pie doin'? i sure hope she is back to full health again .. and we were all so very sorry the little ones didn't survive. honestly, it felt like we all went through your loss with you. can hardly wait to get some of that 'wooly fur' for dolly hair (THEN .. i won't have to hack off my own hair for these little rag chilluns!)

my very definite FAV treasure is my breathtaking beautiful hand-dyed wool and silk ribbon scarf you kids gifted to me! what a wonderful surprize!!!

and wasn't it fun running into the townspeople at the country club for breakfast!! one of the really fun things about living in a small town!

hey luna .. i've been trying to remember your last question you asked in our WELL .. I NEVER!!! game that led to you winning the game? is it one you can repeat 'in writing'??

a real quickie: I've been I'm helping build a fence and work with the ewe girls who are expecting momentarily, but came in to say hello. My favorite place and thing, hmm , will have to think and decide.....geee that will be hard. Personal tour of Greensburg by Frannie meeting all the wonderful town folk who are doing so much there, the beautiful little shops we visited run by the sweetest farm girls ever, Cathy and Pam, such beautiful places they create full of treasures and joy, the play, the reception, the food at Lucy Tuckers, my favorite treasure, hmmmm, probably the print of the little girl and her bird I got a Glover's station (great place!), the wooly lamb hand did by Pam at Cobblestone, the blue make do I WON in the Have you ever game, the little treasure bag from Amy all so wonderful!

Gotta go back outside. Love the pictures, I'll try to post some of mine tonight....taaaaa

Hummm, I will have to really think about that...it was all my favorite! I think it would be when we got back Saturday night and had dinner and talked....I also liked the doll class too(OK so that is two things but I just can't pick just 1). I would say my most fav treasure is the cute purse that I picked up at Cobblestone Farm.

Wow...what a weekend! Meeting new friends and spending time with Frannie.....it doesn't get any better than that! My sister, Glo and longtime girlfriend, Pam had a ball. We laughed all weekend into the early morning and I must fess up....it was us giggling at the play. (The poor actors fake eyebrow was falling off and I think we were the only ones to see it..we expected it to flip off and fly thru the air any minute). Cathy and Pam's stores are precious. They both added to our treasures with lil gifts from the heart. What sweet ladies and so kind. Kathy Sugarbucket always makes you feel welcome in her awesome store too.
Frannie and Hank are so gracious to open their hearts and home to us and anyone! I always feel so confortable and welcome at their home.
We left with tons of memories, loads of giggles and several new friendships. I have said it before and will say it again.......if you ever get the chance........come visit!
I am taking another vacation day tomorrow to rest from the relaxing weekend????? Thank you, Miz Frannie for your kindness and your southern hospitality! We all enjoyed the visit so much!

What a wonderful time we had at Miz Frannie's!!! She had planned a fun filled weekend for us. Gosh, that girl never slows down. How can you thank someone for memories that will last a lifetime?
Well, like Frannie and Amy, I am worn out. I think I will hit the bed soon...well, got to go through my treasurers just one more time and then hit the bed.

Amy, glad to see you made it home safe and sound.

all-a-ya'll gurlfrenz .. i can hardly wait to meet you too! i know we will all have fun and be grande friends ..

honeys i don't have a 'date' planned yet for our Autumn Bounty Gathering .. depends on chilluns and grands and great-grands and hunky and my travel plans for this year. but .. i will make sure we do indeed have a gathering! (and it would be fun to have some 'day-get-togethers' between now and then too! i'll plan some for our local Kentucky area .. AND .. if you plan one for YOUR area .. i will try and travel there. (if mohammed can't come to the mountain .. the mountain will come to mohammed!) YOU being mohammed .. ME being the MOUNTAIN .. (and if i don't stop eating cheesecake for breakfast .. you just might find Mount Frannie on your doorstoop!)

I can't believe that in five short days .. we'll be in the Carribbean!!! i better go take that nap .. get up and PACK .. and post those fun pictures in my 'gathering room' (blog!)

oh gurlfrenz .. do plan some gatherings for your own area .. invite your friends .. from near and far .. plan some fun events for everyone .. and get to know one another. it's the 'stuff of a joyful life'! xo, frannie

FOND FAREWELLS ... the end of our sweet journey has come ..

i woke up to the cheerful chitter chatter of everyone making it out of bed before i did!!

a special surprize was joy's beautiful and sweet daughter, angie who had arrived to hug her momma 'good morning'. what a little treasure she it! i'm so happy that she is now living in green county and is a part of our community life! hank has been on a rafting trip with her man .. and we look forward to some fun times and adventures with them!

gosh .. the gurlz had even put up all their bedding and put everything in it's place! there was a terrific wind storm during the night that actually turned over a huge piece of furniture on the 'side screened porch' and scattered pillows and primitive doo-dahs all over .. on all three porches!

it was raining .. soooo .. we opted to do our 'walk in the woods' .. NEXT VISIT .. and stay warm and cozy in the cabins. we started pulling out eggs and bacon and sausage and making coffee and tea when BLACKNESS fell! the electric went plumb out!!! now miss joy has been sworn to secrecy to NOT tell you that i innocently asked if the electric stove would come on since the electricity was out!!

(i do think she went in search of the wizard of oz scarecrow so she could borrow his 'brain' for me!!)

OH YAY!!! no kitchen mess .. we just opted for fruit and yogurt and cereal and CHEESECAKE .. tea and coffee for breakfast!

the electric came on sporadically .. so we got a 'teeeensy' bit of machine sewing done .. but it went out quicker than it came on .. and we sat and did 'olde-timey sewing' by the light of the day!

none of our dollies got totally finished because of our 'lack of light' .. but not because of lack of spirit! the girls were great students with great imaginations!

amy's handsome honey hunk Tim arrived from Nashville and hung out in front of the fire while we continued to sew and laugh in the kitchen! he is SUCH a doll-baby! they are a perfect match and it is obvious from seeing the two of them together .. that they have a great love affair with one another!

jus' about the time we were giving "farewell-for-awhile" hugs and kisses .. 'ole Mr. Electric decided to 'pop' back on. (hmmmmmmmm .. "oh JOY .. NOW can i use the oven???"

joy did indeed get her car 'stuck in the mud' .. but after a little maneuverin' and manipulatin' we got her free! (both her car and I (who was standing behind the car) are in 'want' of a good bath!

it was with bittersweet happy/sadness that i saw them all drive up the road and over the hill .. sad to see our Cabin Fever Gathering come to an end and them leaving .. but happy because i know we have made 'forever true friendships' and memories .. and that we will all make sure that we continue in each other's lives for a long, long time!

now .. I NEED A NAP!!!!! these young'uns done tuckered me out!!!

Later, i will post some promised photos on my FREEDOM VALLEY blogsite with more stories of each friend. I truly love these gurlfrenz! xo, frannie
