So we have been snowed in for 2 days now, DD goes back to school tomorrow and they are having their Valentines Party, I couldn't get to the store so we made 25 cards on the computer and she did extra colorings/ect on them.

Do you think this is okay or will she be seen as "cheap"? Maybe I'm over thinking it but I remember kids being mean.

Surely NO one would think "cheap." I'd be thinking "HOW SPECIAL."

The girls always wanted hand crafted Valentines, and after about 2nd grade, the boys wanted to buy them with "boy stuff" on them - superheros, spaceships etc.

I made his...only needed 16 and I just used scrapbook paper and cut out big hearts and then cut out lots of little hearts and glue them on and used a LOT of glitter...glitter makes everything better!!!

Cheers,

Handmade one mean so much more. We have a tiny newborn at home so I was not about to take on the challenge of making them with my 4 yr old for preschool class. Other wise we always do home made cards. In fact, she has a friend's birthday party on Saturday and she made the card last night. It's so cute. She drew a picture of her and her friend holding hands in tutus under a sunny sky w/ blue clouds and bright green grass then she put hearts all over the inside of it. That card will mean more to both the giver and receiver then any store bought card could ever mean.

I think they would be very appreciated, handmade ones.
I personally would appreciate them, both the effort and also I'm sure they're very creative and way different from the basic store-bought ones.
We did store-bought (Spongebob...) but just because I didn't make the time, not because they're better.

when my kids were little, we always made our own. (most of the time we made them on martin luther king day because they had off and it was relatively close to valentine's day----couldn't count on snow days in florida!!) anyway, i used to buy a piece of red or pink poster board and cut hearts. then i'd give the kids colored markers and those beads and sequins, lace and doilies and let them glue the stuff on. (here's where i had to allow a few weeks in advance of valentine's day----they put a gallon of glue on each card and it would take forever to dry!!!) they would take them into school in a basket. the kids thought they were cool cause they were so different. and of course the teachers loved them!

I bought theirs this year. My son had to have the Nascar Valentines..lol I wish we could have made them, but he had his heart set on those.

We printed them off the computer and glued them to carstock, and she put her name on them.
