Dear Western States Mustang Challenge Trainer: CONGRATULATIONS - you were accepted as one of the competing trainers!
Which probably means nothing to you, lol! But only 30 trainers were selected; we'll be assigned a wild horse and have from the first weekend in March until the first weekend in June to train it. Then we haul to Sacramento, CA, to the Western States Horse Expo to show!
You may see me doing a bit of fundraising here as I'll be trying to earn gas money; two trips to CA is going to hurt the pocket book; it's several miles from the State of Confusion!

Posted - Feb 10 2008 : 7:17:47 PM Thanks, Farm Girls!
I'm pretty excited. I've got four weeks to put together enough money to buy enough feed and the gas money. I need more gravel in the paddock, too, as Firecracker's been tearing it up pretty good while I've been working with her.
But...I'm looking forward to meeting the horse and seeing just how far we get in three months. Quite the challenge!

Posted - Feb 10 2008 : 2:07:06 PM Congratulations! Since Nevada has the most Mustangs of any state, they're very important here. I love to be driving towards Carson City, sometimes towards Reno and see a herd doing what wild horses do. Makes me proud to be a native Nevadan. Keep us posted! Ronna |
