Made a fast trip to the thrift, it is Friday which means, thats it until next week. So had to go. Found three old doll making books, a watkins bottle , embroidery stuff and bells, and the big basket that the books are in. Also got about three yards of a real nice blue check material that I didn't take a picture of. Its in the wash.
Whole house smells really good from a new candle I got from RUSTY PINS AND OLD LACE.I try and buy her candles a couple of times a year.
Off to get the laundry under control, pick up my daughter from work and make some ham and scalloped potatoes for dinner. Must fit a little embroidery in there someplace and I want to look at these new doll books. I think God should have made the days just a little longer, some of them seem so darn short.

tonight i've been trying to 'organize' ... HA!!!! ... the piles and piles of books i have .. i moved one of my bookcases into my little 'sewie' room (with my new COMFY chair) because i figure i'll look at them more often if they are closer to me.

the proverbial 'someday' .. i'll go through them and do a better job of 'somewhat' categorizing them! I have my flower, garden, herb and cook books pretty much all out on the 'back porch' (it is weather proof). (bunches of those are also in two pie safes and my big 'hen egg laying box' in the kitchen too. my collections of 'americana' .. civil war .. and abraham lincoln books are in the lower cabin (it's done in red/white/blue mostly.)

I'm trying to put my sewing, dollie, art and crafts books in my sewie room. and everything else .. at this point are all stacked up in the 'stranger room' .. and our bedroom. it would take me a zillion lifetimes to read them all.

FRANNIE,
I didn't realize there were so many doll making books out there. Yes I Have the HITTY BOOK, just loved that story. I never look at a doll now without thinking of Hitty. So I'M VERY GOOD TO MY DOLLS AND TALK TO THEM ALOT. When my Grand daughters go home I always go and make sure the dolls are in order and comfy.

I plan on it. I need to get hubby to install my picture editor so I can crop pictures. Maybe I will have him do that today. some of the screws were stripped so it is a bit wobbly but that can be fixed. It is a simple design I hope my boys will make some in the future for gifts etc..I am wearing my skirt and it is sooo flowy.. It is different fabrics but all in shades of purple in stripes on down. I just love it. It has a few snags but if I can find some purply velvet I could applique patches on and I don't think it would deter from the overall pattern of the skirt.

Debra,
You did do good the day you went. You should post a picture of that quilt rack so we can see it.

wow! you made out again.. lovely old books!! You find the best deals.. Not too long ago I went to the goodwill. didn't have much money- I wanted to find a sweater in my size- a cardigan, a skirt and something neat for the house- wasn't sure what.. I found a standing quilt rack with 4 rungs 5 ft tall for $5! Someone made it by hand. I just love it. I did find a sweater- in pink, cotton and covered in cables and a lovely skirt- purple that I just adore!
