back!!! It seems like my back is constantly sore. I know it's because I'm working so hard and I got to thinking, I know a group of girls that could probably relate. It's nothing a good rest or soak in the tub can't fix. I wish it would hold out a little longer as I know I could get more done. Often it's my sore back that puts a halt to my activities.
So what ails you these days?

Call me old fashioned.

Oh geez, thanks Marlene! I run a farm by myself! Looks like I do everything wrong for it too...I live in barefeet and almost never sit. I do notice the severity is affected by what shoes (or lack thereof) that I wear...gumboots are the worst. Will purchase some arch supports tomorrow and see if that helps. Thanks so much for the help!

Oh yes. My husband had plantar facitis. Ouch! Get arch supports to put in your shoes. Get several pair and make sure they are in all the shoes you wear, even slippers! And don't go barefoot, even for a minute, except in the shower. Even there, keep the affected foot on tiptoe. Walk as little as possible. I know that's the opposite of what you should do for everything else, but you have to keep off your foot as much as you can. If it's really bad, your doctor can give you something to wear on your leg at night, too. It keeps the foot stretched out the right way.
Hopefully, it will not last long, but do expect it to last a few months. This is very painful, but the good news is, it DOES get better, if you take care of it! Good luck!

Anyone know anything about plantar facitis(sp?). Arch of one foot hurts like the devil.

The back of my legs from weeding the garden...it is out of control!! Why is it that weeds can grow during a drought and not the plants?????
I could barely find my garden amongst the weeds. It seems we got a sprinkle of rain...and by the next day~~ The weeds were knee high!!

Ring finger right hand- Too much hand quilting at once. Ouch!!!

If it's not illegal, unsafe, or immoral, why not try anything once? Who knows? You may come back for a second helping!

I did some damage to my shoulder a week or so ago from pushing it too hard during exercising. Then I was crocheting with said arm/shoulder (my writing arm) and made it hurt and then go numb. Oy! If I don't lift my arm it will heal. Anyone ever tried going all day without raising their arms and yet keeping up with the daily home stuff?

Telling self: I am NOT going to stop exercising...I am NOT going to stop exercising...I am NOT going to stop exercising....

I dunno, Bobbi. Pain isn't nothing. There has to be something wrong. How about a new doctor for a second opinion?

...back! I am still flat most of the time - recovering from a herniated disk - I can take a walk every other day but other than that, it seems to be too much to do more than the dishes and laundry.

I just found out there are yoga classes in my little one horse town! YEAH. After six kids and the kinda of work I know we all do...yikes! Two years ago next March, I tore my left bicep lifting my dad's wheelchair into a doorway without a ramp. He was heavier than I thought! Anyway it took over a year for it to heal...I honestly wondered if it ever would. But it did. Thankfully. I could have had surgery but I kinda have a rule about hospitals and voluntarily going in...if you are not handing me a baby to bring home with me, then I am not volunteering to go in! And since my baby days are over, I just let the arm heal on its own. I took cortisone as often as they would let me and it did help. I am really happy to be back to 99.9%.

lower back and abdominal pain, Doctors say it's nothing, but it's sure there.

you can be oh so smart, or you can be oh so positive. I wasted a lot of time being smart I prefer being positive.

I am no expert, but there is literature with pictures demonstrationg exercises to strengthen your back. If not in a physician's office the library will have something. I do yoga and it has wonderful strengthing exercises for the back.

Both of you work hard and that is demanding on your bodies, so please take care.
