It was a great game. I just love edge-of-your-seat nail biters. I'm glad the Giants won. They worked really hard for this and they earned it. Sorry, Patriots fans but I just love it when the underdog wins.

The last 9 minutes of the game was when all the action happened! I missed it too. Got a long distance phone call, and I took it so my husband didn't have to. He doesn't watch football at all during the whole season, but then he sits down to watch the Superbowl and all of a sudden -WHAM- it's like some male instinct kicks in and he starts analyzing plays, explaining the strategy to me, characterizing the style of play for both teams. It's so cute.

I thought Tom Petty looked remarkable young. He was old when I was in high school (early 90s) so he must be 60 if he's a day.

I'm 31 and I think his "masterpiece" album came out when I was in high school...so mid-late 90's.

He kind of appeals to a wide range though since he's been around a long, long time.

was a great game....couldn't believe the giants won, but glad they did. on one of the fox news channels (i think it's with a guy named cavuto???) they had the amazing kreskin make a prediction and seal it in an envelope. they are supposed to open it tuesday and see if he was right! dick and i had no idea who tom petty was......the only petty i was familiar with was some race car driver. anyway, i called my neighbor who is about 10 years older and she didn't know, then i called my son who is in college and he didn't know, and my 15 year old daughter didn't know either. ???? so what age group does this guy play to?

WOW that was a good game in the end....glad to see the giants win, since Steelers had beef with the patriots. Anyway it was good on all sides.

I am still laughing...the look on all your faces was PRICELESS! I thought Lucas and Erik might faint, actually it was much better than the last 9 minute of the game I am sure;)
Goodnight Stella Jane and thanks for a lovely evening.

Hannah...Tom Petty is a good ole rocker and guitar player. He is in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Back a couple of years ago when the Rolling Stones were playing at the Super Bowl, I had the wonderful pleasure of meeting their keyboard player, Chuck Leavall. He is a tree farmer and spoke at a conference that I was at. Very nice guy and he signed his book to my husband and one of his cds to me. He worked with the Allman Brothers Band too.

Meg - that is too funny about Stella pulling the plug!! I only caught a few commercials this year though.

Oh, a funny thing! Rebekka Mae and her family and myself and my family got a bit of a late start on the game with two babes and a four year old...so we paused it and were about 45 minutes behind. Just long enough to have about 9 minutes left in the fourth and our lovely little Stella found a hidden outlet and UPLUGGED the TV!! All lost! Oh, we are laughing so hard! We had to turn it on to another channel to check to final score. Oh, so so funny! That is the lives of parents!

The funniest part about this little laugh, we had just talked about having lost a movie taped before by pressing the live button on the remote... laughing laughing laughing. Maybe Rebekka and I are laughing a bit more than the hubbies.

Oh Jessie....maybe you can tell me and Art just who TOM PETTY is!!! We sat here watching him and wondered who in the world he was....we decided we must have been busy having our kids when he was around or at least someone who our kids watched. Our last good concert was Faron Young to give you an idea of our level - although we saw Montgomery Gentry at a waterfront concert when we lived in Indiana, also Patty Lovlace was with them and we did like that.

Football just isn't the same since Joe Montana retired! I was a 49ers fan since I was 3 years old. I still have all my Montana memorabilia, from his rookie card, to a jersey, and an autographed football. I'm watching the game here and there. Tom Petty rocked my socks! :) Hubby is a HUGE fan of his so he was like a kiddo watching him play the halftime show. haha
