Miss Wilma, my really really nice pillow came today and a most adorable little stump doll as you call her. I have my pillow already for bedtime, first feather pillow I have had in years. The bad news is I can't take a picture of it for my site because I dropped my camera and its a goner!! I ordered another one and it won't be here for about a week. Not putting pictures on my site for a week, yipes, I don't know if I can handle that. Well anyway, thankyou for making the feather pillow for me, and I will try not to die on it like Ruth did in the fried green tomato movie. I'm sure it had nothing to do with your pillows in the movie, she was already sick. HA.

I think you are so right, Miss Wilma. Some of the local folks here have opened their arms and embraced us with all their heart. But I truly believe it was after they found out that we loved them just the way they are. Too many folks try to change others or belittle their way of life. I would be resentful too if someone did that to me. I've lived in both worlds and it seems all too many folks have prejudice.

When I was a little girl, we lived in the mountains of West Virginia. We were mountain people and dad moved us to Chicago for work. All my growing up years, I remember being tagged as different. We were simple and had our own way of doing things. They called me hillbilly and made fun of my homemade clothes. I just never did fit into city girl mold. Then when we finally moved south, I had a northern accent and then the southern folks would look at me funny. LOL Seems I've always been caught between two worlds.

... now back to pillows! Maryjane your trailer sounds exactly what I dream of someday. If you ever get a chance, please post some photos. I have such a lovely picture in my mind. And pink cowgirl pillows ... delightful!

Look what you've started, Nancy Jo! I just can't stay on the subject, can I?

Blessings, Lea

Do you remember the girls that used to go camping out in Idaho, they had thes cute little hump back trailors and were featured in country living, some one wrote me that two of them were MJS girls, One of their names was Becky Clark , she had a shop in Ketchum, The Water Lemon

Well I know this probably is not the place to put this but I think it was in 1972, this band of hippies moved into our neighbor hood, onto the farm that joined us, well you couldnt believe how big the caravan was,For such a small community of us it was the biggest thing that had ever happened, the neighbors were terrified, An old man owned the property and gave them permission to live there, IT was all on the news and traffic didnt let up for 4 days then I reacon his children stepped in and put them on the road i will never forget this beautiful little black haired girl looking out of a window of one of the buses when it went by, I know they settled some where in Tn but it has been so long I cant remember where, I dont believe you would have been happy with this group,Lea it is not that you are not accepted , Its like I am speaking from here, but we have our cultures and our way of life our way of talking and it seems like some come in and try to change our way of living, honey just get right in there and be one of them, after awhile you really are,you talk about rough I lived in Louisville 3 months and it was miserable

We have only lived here for 3 years though family roots go back as long as we can remember. I was born in '65 so I'm not familiar with a band of hippies around here. I think this community would have run them off. It is a pretty tight knit & closed community. With our yankee accents, I'm not so sure that everyone here has accepted us ... yet! I'm still working on them. But you've peaked my interest, Miss Wilma, and I'll be asking around. I've always liked the idea of communal living ... maybe they'll let us join! I think I'd make a really fine hippy!

Yes Lea they are in the movie, also one of my best friends, she is not a movie star ha, she was used on the church pew seats just for a glance, we have laughed so much because she had to go out to the set several mornings at 3 am,for filming just to be seen at a glanceYou will love the movie but not because of my pillows

Miss Wilma, did you make some feather pillows for MaryJane's Farm? For my Birthday last year, my sweet hubby bought me some things from the farm and one of the gifts was this darling feather pillow. The pillow is blue & white small strips and the pillowcase is white with a pretty lace trim on it. I love it and use it in my little vintage travel trailer!

I highly recommend Fried Green Tomatoes...its just a great classic movie to watch set back in time. Jessica Tandy is a hoot in it at times.
