I love all three of those movies too! We just watched O Brother on Monday night (no football). And it doesn't seem to matter how many times I've watched Steel Magnolias or Fried Green Tomatoes, I cry my eyes out anyway. Amazingly enough, while those two movies seem to be "chick flicks", dh just loves those two movies as much as I do.

Sad to say that I have watched O Brother way over 100 times while in college. It's one of those movies that you could watch over and over. The soundtrack is still on the Billboard charts for one of the best selling albums and has went several times platinum. That's what you call longevity!

I'm trying to think of some other movies that are from back in time that I like..hmm

I also love oh brother where art thou, Every one has their own ideas about movies but I seem to like the ones that are more homey,And I love funny ones even though I do cry in some of them if they have sad parts, I mean the barbecue part was funny in fried green tomatoes then the last part of oh broyher was hilarious

well... birds of a feather right? That's one of my all time favorites too! Steel Magnolias too. (I have that one set up to tape on the DVR). As much as I try not to cry because I have seen them so much, I can't help it! The flood gates come down. They are now my oldest DD's favorites too. I like Hope Floats too. Another crier for me!

That's Jus's favorite actress, Miss Wilma, the gal who died in Fried Green Tomatoes...she has those killer brown eyes, ya know!

I always loved movies set in "back in time" like Fried Green Tomatoes and O Brother Where Art Thou. Something about that era and the simple things in life makes ya want to go back in time.
