I got the nicest hat at the thrift a while back and wanted you to see it, but it doesn't show off to good. But I show off pretty good in my thrift clothes. Also got out my Great Grandma's album today. She collected advertizing cards and calling cards. I posted a few pictures of it. Its from the late 1800's. Wish I had more things from all those people. Posted - Jan 30 2008 : 05:40:48 AM Thanks for showing that album, Nancy Jo. Old advertising is so colorful and ornate. It's just fascinating to me. Each and every card in your album is probably very valuable to a collector. And you look very cute in a hat! ;)

Posted - Jan 29 2008 : 04:28:37 AM Ooo la la, you look tres chic in that hat, gal pal! And what a wonderful album, and all the more wonderful because it does need to be handled with care. I guess the mail art that alot of the farmgals make is similar to having calling cards, huh? You are so sweet and smart to hold on to these lovely things from time gone by. It does give a lovely glimpse into the lives of the women who went before us. Thanks for sharing the pictures with us! Hugs, Nance |

Posted - Jan 29 2008 : 04:11:19 AM I love that old album. I see those colorful cards all the time and always thought they were adorable. It is a neat treasure to hold on to to pass on from generation to generation. I have a few things of my great grandma's, my great aunt, and my grandma. Those items I will cherish forever. I love hearing the story of what they did with the item and the special meaning.
