I thought when I saw this it couldn't be right. But it was and I love it. What a nice old clock and I found the perfect place for it. Which I might add is getting harder and harder to do. Also got a neat coat hook, a very old plate and a couple of baskets and a buffalo china soap dish. So this was an extra good day at the thrift.

I polished up the clock and it keeps perfect time. I can't believe it was 1.98. I love looking at it. It hung in the living room for two days before Richard noticed it. He still doesn't know which drawer his socks are in. They have been in the same drawer for 40 years.

I swear by Liquid Gold. It comes in a spray can, like Pledge, and smells like almonds. I have a 75 year-old dining room table and china cabinet, and the Liquid Gold hides a multitude of flaws. It's very oily, though, so be careful where you spray it. I usually put it on a cloth first and then wipe.

I think if you just oil the wood. Maybe something like Murphys Oil. That would bring out the glow in the wood. MB

JANICE,
Yes that coat hook is the cutest thing isn't it? I love the little glass bulbs on it. Its not old, but I guess that doesn't always have to be. It just really caught my attention. If things keep catching my attention I will soon need a barn to put it all in.

I want to give the wood a nice polish, any ideas on what would be good to use on the wood?

That is a beautiful clock. You definitely are the queen of good finds! I may venture out tomorrow and look at some antique places around here.

I was just looking at that coat hook I got with the glass balls, its says on the back 22 dollars. I paid .99 cents.
I don't know how old the clock is, I just think its pretty old because of the cabinet its in. I will see if I can research it a bit.
Funny Jeannie! Yea I found a place pretty fast considering I'm running out of space around here.
Bridget, post a picture of yours so I can see it, and Patricia, come thrifting with me anytime.

Nancy Jo....I just love the clock you found, is it old? No matter, it looks old. You are on the right track with your thrift shopping. I also like your silver tray of glass and jewelry, a nice look. You have a very good eye and I can tell you have a good time finding treasures.
The cake looks pretty good too! Stay warm, Hannah

BE SURE TO LOOK AT OUR NEW WEBB PAGE...Thanks and enjoy every minute of this day!! Hannah

That clock looks pretty good, and it looks great in the place you hung it. Is the picture at the bottom an ink sketch?
And I can see by the time, that it only took you less than a half hour to find a place for it! :)
