the actor Heath Ledger was found dead in his home this afternoon. If you don't know who that is - he was the actor that played opposite Jake Gyllenhall in Brokeback Mountain. I saw him on a talk show not long ago - he has a new baby. The article said they suspect drugs may have been a factor. That is so sad.

Good Morning All,
I found this article done by a news agency in Australia. Very different than the stuff we're hearing here. sigh. It appears He'd been having trouble sleeping for some time. Sounds as if it was a very unfortunate accident.

Yeah I heard yesterday and was shocked. He seemed to have it going. I too heard sleeping pills (judy garland anyone?) and anitdepressants valium and xanax. It's a hard life with so much going on. His poor daughter. :( I loved him the second I saw him in 10 things I hate about you. I love when he sings the song at the end :( RIP

This is sad. So young. I too liked A Knights Tale. One thing they are saying on the news today is that he also had pneumonia. So it may not have been drugs or but maybe a mixture of the 2. After his movie that he just finished, he had only been sleeping 2 hours a night & taking sleeping pills which would only work for an hour per the article I read. Sad.

So sad. I hear it too last night andcouldn't believe my ears. Well, actually, most stuff coming out of Hollywood shouldn't be such a shock.

but still

I have A Knight's Tale on DVD and it's one of those movies I can watch over and over.

I also didn't know Heath was the Joker in the newest Batman. I have become a fan of the guy who plays Batman, so we'll have to see this one and buy the DVD as well.

What a waste of good talent and a perceived good life. Poor wife and child.

I can't believe it!! I'm sooo sad! What a beautiful man! And there could have been help out there!

I loved him in 10 Things I Hate About You as well. That's horrible! Was it suicide or recreational drug use? Poor child will never know her father.

i was upset by it too. usualy i'm not too interested in "stars" but he seemed like an average guy who happened to be an actor. just the other day i saw the cutest pic of him and his little girl out shopping. they looked like they were having the time of their lives.

i love him with julia styles in 10 Things I Hate About You. that movie really cracks me up. i also really like him in The Patriot and A Knights Tale.

Heard it on the way to pick Jus up this evening. Very sad. I immediately thought of his little girl.

This is really sad. Husband just read this on a news reel and told me about it. It's always sad to lose a great talent like his.

I cannot believe how sad I am over this! This stuff rarely leaves an impact on me because I think about actors as being foolish with the drugs and crazy lifestyles that they often lead. However, I loved this guy in A Knight's Tale and Casanova. He seemed so sweet. Another child affected by drugs and the needless death of a parent! How sad.

On the drive home, I heard the news on the radio. It was shocking and very sad.....he had his whole life ahead of him, and a promising career.

They said that pills were found around the bed area. How sad! My daughters loved his acting and he was great in "A Knight's Tale". Some many actors/entertainers are on drugs now days and give such horrible examples to our kids.
