Dear Sisters,
I cannot express my thanks to all of you who offered kind words, sympathetic thoughts, and prayers in response to my recent post about coming to terms with my best friend's pregnancy during my own struggles with infertility. Your kindness truly buoyed me during a very difficult day in my life, and I just can't describe how touched I am by all of your kindness - especially Jessica and Beth.
Sometimes this seems like a pretty cold world...today we don't all have - or even want - the luxury of being born, growing up, living, and dying in the same community. We splinter off and move away from the people who love us and whom we love, for the hope of better jobs or better schools or better opportunities, and often we have to sacrifice our past and sometimes our present for the sake of our future. Sometimes, as in my personal case, we end up kind of alone - miles away from our family and friends and at a loss for the kind of support that used to be no further away than your next-door neighbor.
Living in this world, I can't describe how absolutely and completely comforting it is to know that I can sit down at my computer, type a few lines, and in just a matter of hours have love, sympathy, and prayer pouring in from women from all over - wonderful, kind women who have such a deep capacity for love that they don't let the fact that they don't even know me stop them from offering such kind words and loving gestures.
I don't post here very often, and usually when I do it is a short post or a funny comment to something someone else has posted. I don’t have a whole lot of experience with “virtual” relationships and bulletin boards. But nonetheless, I want each and every one of you to know that in an attic bedroom in a small bungalow in St. Johns, Michigan, there is a redheaded, 31 year-old woman sitting at a vintage enamel-topped table with a computer on it, thanking God and praising Him for His compassion for allowing her to be in the company of such fine women. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Jessie, your post is eloquant and beautiful and touched me deeply. It doesn't matter how often you post or how long your post is. Many of us, me included, have never posted "virtually" before. I'm not even sure what it is! But there is something real between us farmgirls and you put your finger right on it.

Thank you for the lovely post, pretty and sweet red-headed girl.

farmgirl hug,
Patricia

Jessmae I must have missed your post on here. I am deeply sorry your friends loss. It is devistating to lose a baby. If your friend would like a memory box or anything just let us know. Our volunteers would be honored to give your friend this gift.
I am so deeply sorry for your infertility problems. It is just as devistating as losing a baby sometimes. Not exactly the same kind of loss of course. I have had both problems and i know the tears and heartache it can be to get a negative on a pregnancy test. And our bodies play tricks on us. Its devistating. I will lift you in prayers!
If you ever need anything let me know. Mary
