I came across this site as a link from a blog I was looking at and it looked like a really neat program. I love the idea of donating $25, or more if you're able, to help someone else change their own life. And you get the money back and can use it to help someone else or get it back for yourself when it's repaid. I'm checking out all of their information and then I think I'm going to sign up.

Oh i heard about this one! I actually have been wanting to do this. It's a really good program or so it seems. I have also done Heifer before:)

Yes, after looking more I see it has been on several news shows as well so I'm quite happy with how good of a program it will be. I also like the idea that they repay the loan to learn financial responsibility and then I get to reuse the money for another person, it just keeps giving as long as I want it to. And as you said you get to see what people are doing with their businesses and how well they are doing for themselves, very rewarding.

I heard about this program on Oprah - she had the people that started it on there. I did some research and I believe it's a really good program. Of the people I looked at, only one had defaulted on their loan and what the others had done with theirs was amazing. It's kind of like the Heifer program, if you're familiar with that. It's based on the principal of teaching someone to fish as opposed to giving them a fish - you know the old adage. I was really interested in the craftspeople of Kiva and what they have done with their loans.

Bumping this up. I've already donated to one and am going to choose a second one to do today. I really just love this idea!

If anyone else is interested, it might be neat if we all could choose one of the people and donate to the same one to get them even closer and maybe to their full donation.
