For those of you who have been following the Thanksgiving Fire Thread about Candace:

Our high school and middle school kids held a penny war as a fundraiser for Candace and managed to raise $1,011!!!!

Then the school called Candace and asked her to come to the school under false pretenses (she would have been too embarrassed to go if she had known the real reason). Then they called all of the kids out of class into the cafeteria where they presented Candace with a check. I didn't get to be there for it, but it still brought a tear to my eyes when my daughter told me all about it.

We are all so proud of our kids. What an amazing fundraiser they pulled off. Our local newspaper (Idaho World) reporter is on the story and it will be in the paper soon. It's only printed once a week, so I'm hoping it will be in next weeks edition.

We all need good news. I wish the media would focus on the good in this world instead of what they think is news. Great kids, you should be proud of each and everyone. MB

What a great bunch of children! It is so good to hear stories like this! I just got a card from Candace this week and it sounds like she is on her way. Please update us on how she is doing and if she has other needs. Thanks.

Blessings, Lea
