Hi farmgirls...just wondering how many of us are college students AGAIN, or for the 1st time. I am a first year student with a distance-learning college; Clayton College of Natural Health out of Birmingham, Alabama. I'm earning my BS in Holistic Nutrition. While I LOVE the topics, information, etc...I am finding it difficult to get back into the "101" requirements. Slowly but surely, I'm getting it done. Just wondered how many of us there are...how you structure your study time, what works for you? Anyone struggling with essay's? I seem to have a mental block for getting my 1st essay written...just need to "apply myself" as I've heard over and over in my lifetime. Gotta get 'er done!
Anyway...here's to us!!!

WOW! I'm impressed AND inspired. Thanks farmgirls! It really starts with that first step, so I'll use the great outline I have and get this essay done. For me, it's more than just going back to school @ 48, it's about overcoming ingrained fears and doubts and negative self-talk & instead, loving the learning. Thank you for the example you all set, each of you. I really appreciate the responses.

This is fun seeing who all is learning! I will be in my 4th semester of schooling and they start on the 24ths. Luckily I'm taking less than ever.

I am an Online student at Texas State Univerisity, in the Health Information Management Program. I am in my second semester of my Junior year. I love it!! Everday, I am one step closer to graduating!! YIPEEE!!!! I have the pleasure of using my GI BILL from the military to pay for school and allow me to stay home so I can focus soley on my studies and the house and kiddo and dog. DH is in daycare, so I can study. I spend about 3-4 hours a day doing schoolwork, going over stuff, research. I found a HUGE HUGE HUGE calendar and mark all the important dates and it hangs right next to my table here. I read first thing in the morning because if I wait until night time, I fall asleep!! : )

Essays kill me too because I have what I want to say in my head but I can't get it down on paper. So I do what I call blurbing-I write down any random thought, word, idea on paper and then construct something from there.

DH is currently enrolled in an online Master Program in Criminal Justice. We are just a learning family!!!!

Cheers,
Heather

Hey you two I'm a student right now going for my Masters in Instructional Design from Seton Hill University in Greensburg, PA. It is basically a distance learning program. My mum is doing it too this will be her 2nd masters but she has had classes on campus for her concentration. Mine is workplace training. Yes everyone thinks oh online easy, no you still have the work and for a masters MORE! Awesome to know who's going to school.

I'm a college student again. I finished my Bachelor's in Business a year ago and returned to school this past fall. I'm now working on a Masters of Science in Management. I attend Indiana Wesleyan University (online.) It works for me because I don't have to go to class but still have TONS of work. I make it a priority to do my work in the evenings so that I can have Sundays to myself to work on my business on the side. Plus I have a full-time job. I make out a schedule and figure out what I need to do ahead of time!

Good luck to you!
