I am torn between upgrading to a blackberry or sticking with what I have. I figure for school and looking into getting my own biz going it would come in handy. What do you all use?

Aw cute Peanut! That reminds me I never wanted a cell until after 9/11. Mum insisted that I get one since I was at college and we were having those issues. No looking back.

This is why I'm thankful for my cell phone today...

A friend I've known since 2001 from another message board is giving birth today and I'm relaying her text messages to everyone else on the board! I told her I feel like a CyberAuntie!

I will admit that I am totally addicted to my cell phone. We have Verizon and are very happy. We have the Unlimited Family Choice plan and have all 5 family member on there. I pay a little extra but get unlimited texting - necessary with a teenager in the house. I have just a plain Jane LG camera phone. I don't use the camera but have the rest of my life in my phone - calendar, reminders, etc. If I was going to get a new phone I'd get the EnV. My boss has and so does my grandson. It has an awesome camera!

That's the thing, we have 2 phones and I refuse to PAY to get out of something that is their fault. So we continue the fight....

Cheers,

It costs $175 to get out of a Verizon contract (or it used to).

My bf has Sprint and he hardly has service and has many dropped calls. He is in it till 09 but surely you can get out of a contract when it's only a piece of plastic you're paying for.

I am a cell phone addict. We don't have a home phone so hubby and i both use our cells. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my cell phone and can't imagine even going across the street without it. It's awful how truly addicted I am. Almost all of my friends and family are on Verizon so we never go over our minutes because of unlimited mobile-to-mobile minutes.

Call your state attorney general and see what they say about it, and if they can help you with breaking your contract.

I have Verizon and love their coverage as well. I just don't use my phone that much.

Yep- Cingular has the MOST dropped calls in the Nation and yet, even with our phone bill showing 1 minute phone calls left and right ie: the DROPPED calls...they are refusing to break our contracts!! We have a little over a year left!!

Cheers,
Heather

Mine is a camera flip phone, with the mp-3 thing too. I hate it. I hardly use the camera, and have never used the mp-3 thing.

When my contract expires in March, I am going to a trac phone.
I hardly ever use my cell phone, so I am throwing forty bucks away per month. I would rather pay 100 dollars per year on a trac phone.
The more basic the model, the better!

I drive a lot, so I have to have a phone for practical/safety reasons.

If I paid for the service, I could have internet access and email on the EnV. Since I'm too cheap for that, I opt for just unlimited text messaging. However, I can easily send text messages to emails and get replies without paying email fees. It also has a phone that takes video, has great speakers, plays music. And it has the navigation feature so that I can use it for GPS Navigation from anywhere. I love Verizon. The service coverage is great. My hubby loved my phone so much that he just went and bought the Olive Green version of my phone.

I am boring and like a basic cell phone that is larger in size. I am too clumsy to operate anything else!!! We switched from Verizon over to Cingular (now AT&T) and I hate it!!! We are going back to Verizon once our contract is up!!!

Heather

I have the Orange LG EnV. It has a full keyboard and another whole screen if you flip the phone open.... I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! I wanted a Blackberry but didn't want to pay the monthly fees and the EnV does everything I need it to do.

She just got it in December so I'm assuming it's the latest and greatest! I know she does "documents" on it and emails pictures from it.
And yes, super busybee is a compliment! Some days reading about all you accomplish makes me feel like I was in reverse! LOL! I admire you.

Thanks Sherry! Lol Not sure if the super busybee was a compliment? Yeah I actually tried that Chocolate when I got my new phone, loved the old phone but it was used and abused. The chocolate looked good but the touch drove me INSANE! I'm sorry you've hung up on people :-o What type of Blackberry does the SIL have? I'm looking. I am still like iffy cause of the plans, but as of now I'm doing schooling and trying to get my lil biz going and achieve my dreams so I keep thinking it would help. I like the idea of some of them having Microsoft office etc. That would help me!

I've read alot of your posts and you are a super busybee, so I just want to give you a suggestion. Whatever you get, try it out first. I got a "free" upgrade last year with the new-every-two deal with Verizon. I picked the Chocolate. That was a huge mistake, for me anyway. It works somewhat like an IPod. But it's so touchy, that if you are busy or not paying attention you can hit all sorts of stuff you didn't want. And you can't hold it up to your ear with your shoulder! I know that sounds strange but probably other people do that when they are doing something with their hands. I've hung up on so many people, some potential clients! Not good. My SIL has the blackberry and loves it, though.
Good luck

I have a pink Razr.

I think a Blackberry would be far more useful for school and work though!

The cheapest, no-frills Verizon you can buy (for a penny). I wanted one without the camera but they don't have those anymore!
