Posted - Jan 16 2008 : 9:31:02 PM This photo was taken by yours truly this afternoon around 2pm. Note the huge "snowball" at the top. My car is a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire, used just for reference. The snowdrift goes from the ground up ![](icons/icon_smile_wink.gif)
The car is parked about 2 feet from the base of the snow mound to give you an idea. Oh yes, and this isn't in a parking lot or anything. This is what the snow plow cleared from the road on my way to work!!

Posted - Jan 17 2008 : 1:52:49 PM WOW that is a huge pile of snow! The last "snow storm" where we got a ton of snow was back about 10 years ago. My brother and I built tunnels and such in the big snowdrifts. I miss having a good ole fashion snow. They claimed we would get a snow last night, but not a drop fell.

Posted - Jan 17 2008 : 1:49:13 PM Actually we only got about 6 inches, but that is from the Snow plow scraping the road, and with the wind sometimes the drifts get as much as 4 feet deep. This particular place is common for drifts, so it's hard to tell how much was actually in that area before the plow came along.

Posted - Jan 17 2008 : 11:42:52 AM Ohhh...we always had a snowpile like that in the corner of the church parking lot when I was a kid. Such an awesome fortress or mountain peak! I just want to jump into the photo and climb it.
How deep is the snow on the ground? I know Oswego, NY sometimes gets 10 feet or more in a storm, but I've never been there to see it. You guys have been having a drought the past couple of summers, haven't you? Maybe this will help! |

Posted - Jan 17 2008 : 10:10:42 AM Wow! I like how both the snow and the car are nice and white up top and get dirtier (no offense) farther down.

Posted - Jan 17 2008 : 09:51:57 AM Yup- poor old "Angel"(my car) needs a bath. But since the temperatures are below freezing all the time right now- it will have to wait. Otherwise my doors would freeze shut!!

Posted - Jan 17 2008 : 07:30:39 AM Great shot, Alee. Looks like your car needs a bath though (haha). Actually, I didn't think you guys got that much snow up there. I thought your climate was that milder northwest kind of climate.
