Ok, last night was better than the first night but Gus's fake cowboy accent is killing me. I would like to see Lonesome Dove again now.

Oh No! I'm glad I didn't see THAT movie, cause I'd really have troubles, wouldn't I???? I'm going to watch again tonight, also. I kindof got hooked (after my dh stopped talking) and he fell asleep. I'll have to see how it ends for sure. Made me want to get out my Lonesome Dove dvd's now!!!!

Well I really enjouyed last nights part. I am interested to see how it will all turn out. Seems like it will be a little more action packed tonight. The Gus guy was also in the movie Super Troopers which is even WORSE than Dazed and Confused!!!

I have to admit, Lonesome Dove was, like, the end all be-all western for me. Somethin' about Tommy Lee Jones and Robert Duvall just made me weak in the knees. I don't think I've EVER cried so much!!! This one seems a little contrived, and honestly, I had a really tough time after Jus yelled.."Hey, that guy right there was in Dazed and Confused" (the young Gus) and now that's all I can think of, but I'm going to give it a shot again tomorrow evening. It seems to be lacking the same "soul" as Lonesome Dove, but, it IS afterall, something I'd rather watch than say, Survivor, Dancing with a Ferret or their newest concoction!!!

I loved it. I can hardly wait for tonights conclusion. We already know about the whores from the Lonesome Dove series. They talked about them all the time. Well, it was mostly Gus who talked about them.

The one that Woodrow was seeing - she was in love with him and apparently was trying to keep herself for him. When she told him she was pregnant and that it was his; I was waiting for him to ask her how she knew. But he didn't ask. She is Newt's mom. Remember the boy that Woodrow refused to recognize as his own and Gus kept insisting that Newt was his? In the end, Woodrow finally acknowledged Newt in his own way without actually saying the words.

thought it was okay, but not a lot of depth... i heard that tonight is the conclusion??? it seems like they'll need more than one more night to actually have created a good story/miniseries.??? and yes, there did seem to be a lot of focus on the prostitutes. how does that one hooker know who the father of her baby is?

I loved Lonesome Dove; both the mini-series and the book. (The book makes me laugh out loud.)

I tried to watch Commanche Moon after Jane Austen's Persuasion on PBS last night, but got bored and moved onto something else. I was really disappointed.

The cast for Lonesome Dove was perfect, and I can't imagine anyone but Robert Duvall and Tommy Lee Jones playing Gus and Call.

I don't feel like it was okay for any of my kids at home now (13 and under) either..but here it came on after their bedtime anyhow.
I LOVE Lonesome dove and was SO dissapointed with the sequel, but this one seems better (I agree about whores being a big thing in it though...I hope THAT gets better) I do wish Gus were cuter too. Haha You gotta love Gus.

No, it is not a family movie. My youngest is 14 though and loved Lonesome Dove so I let him watch this one. He was disappointed as well. The kids don't plan to watch tomorrow night but David and I probably will.

I am so out of touch when it comes to the television..I have one but we watch movies is all..regular programming is not on the radar at all..Tell me more about the show though and why it appeals to you...

mrs skull was a little interesting. I didnt see lonesome dove so I dont have anything to compare it too. I wouldn't consider it a family movie. I did like it though.

Y'all liked it? Really? I LOVED Lonesome Dove. I didn't really care for this at all. It seemed to focus more on "whores" than anything else. My whole family was disappointed. I am hoping the 2nd night will be better
