I watched this movie last night, and was absolutely enthralled. It is not a new movie, and it stars Geraldine Page. If you can rent this or find a copy, or come across it on your old movie channels on TV. please try to watch it. It is so "real" and is set in the early 1940's, and the photography is great. Has anyone else seen this movie?

An elderly lady, cooped up in her son's two-room apartment with his wife, jumps onto a bus and travels back to her childhood home in Bountiful Texas. It is very poignant and loving.

Miss Wilma,
I recognize the name but can't put a face to her. I will see if I can look her up. Yes I have seen Fried Green Tomatoes about three thousand times. So those are your pillows. Now I will have to watch it again so I can see them. See you are a prop artist for books, magazines and movies.

I loved that movie when I first saw it when it came out!! I asked for the video of it and watched it over and over. Every time we sing "Softly and Tenderly" at church, I think of it all over again. Thanks for bringing it up here!

Jeanie,
One of my most favorite movies, I have seen it several times. When my Aunt Glenda who is 92, and I talk about going back to our home town where we grew up, we always say, its about time for another trip to BOUNTIFUL. If I had known it was on I would have watched it again. She was also in a movie called a CHRISTMAS MEMORY.That was really good too. They didn't show that this year, at least I didn't see it. ITS FRUITCAKE WEATHER, she would say. YOU CAN GET THE BOOKS. CHRISTMAS MEMORY AND THE THANSGIVING VISITOR. But anyway Miss Page sure did a good acting job. Love to hear her talk.

I had not seen it before - although some of the scenes seemed familiar....maybe I had seen pieces of it.

It is a trip back in time.

I've never seen it, but it sounds like a treasure. Had you seen it before? I'll have to rent it.
