Posted - Jan 06 2008 : 11:21:01 PM Now it's really going to get interesting next weekend. Can hardly wait. Just so you all know, neither my hometown team (Bills) nor my adopted team (Broncos) made it to the playoffs this year. Oh, well, there's always next year. So, I find myself rooting for the Patriots. An undefeated season is pretty darn impressive.

Posted - Jan 07 2008 : 09:04:57 AM Nashbabe, my feelings wouldn't be hurt if the Colts beat the Patriots in the playoffs and then faced the Giants in the Super Bowl. It would be very interesting. It could happen....As far as the Belichik scandal...I don't have ANY respect for him, but I still do like the team (only if the Bills are out of it). They've worked very hard this year.
Judy, Bonnie and Heather, you gals must be having a lot of fun this year. I know what you mean, Heather. DH and I sit on opposite side of the living room whenever the Bills play the Broncos! We both adopted each others' team years ago to cheer them on, but when they face each other, it's another story.

Posted - Jan 07 2008 : 07:22:59 AM Manning versus Manning...unlikely, but wouldn't it be interesting?
Please don't throw stuff at me, but I am basically cheering for ANYONE but the Patriots. I had a great deal of respect for them until the cheating scandal came to light, and that really soured me to their team.
Mostly the fun part now is the Super Bowl party to come! :-)

Posted - Jan 07 2008 : 07:11:01 AM I usually don't care about football, and don't follow it, but I'll root for the Giants. They're one of our local teams.

Posted - Jan 07 2008 : 05:25:34 AM Well, how cool is that?! You know their dad? The Manning boys seem like very nice guys, too, from what I've seen in interviews. Their dad must be very proud. They're both good quarterbacks. It's been fun to watch Eli mature in the NFL. He's improved so much over the season that I would not be surprised if he didn't turn out to be even better than his big brother.
Don't feel bad. The Saints didn't do too bad this year at 7 and 9. You never know what the next year will bring.

Posted - Jan 07 2008 : 04:28:36 AM My team didn't make it either (Saints). For me the good news is that both of the Manning boys made it to the playoffs. I am so happy for their dad, he is one of the nicest people you will ever meet.
